I think people are counting their chickens way too early re Willian...I think he will not be a spurs player ... i honestly think he is using us to flush out a bid from a CL club
My new outlook is its not my money so if £30m Willian turns out to be a £20m player then that still 1 more £20m player we have
The only other top left back I can think of that you would be able to get is Felipe Luis of Atletico Madrid. Though that is a far stretch. They'll probably want loads for him. I would have said Eric Abidal as I thought he was still a free agent, but I just noticed he is now at Monaco.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia is reporting Willian as a done deal. €35m to be paid over two years and a six year deal for the player. No idea who this bloke is but he's popped up with a load of information over the past couple of transfer windows and I think he's the one who got the Guardiola to Bayern story, IIRC. Wonder why he seems to be getting these stories before anyone else?
That sky italia are ITK, they reported the Osvaldo deal before anyone else and as PNP says the PEP one, so ROO, I expect you to have him bookmarked!
I'd happily have Willian at Liverpool. But wont lose sleep missing out on him for that money. Presuming you are selling Bale then you guys can afford it and it makes the transfer less of a risk. If we spent that much money on him and he flopped it would be a massive blow.
people keep picking out all these stats re willian about how he doesn't score enough etc, but has anyone actually watched him properly? I know i havent, but the times i've seen him, he's caused havoc. He's a pain in the arse. His feet are very quick, he finds a way through compact areas, he's bloody intelligent and he's a nightmare for defenders to mark, as he floats around from left-middle-right. - Those attributes might actually help us solve our "creative problems" 30 mill might seem like a lot, but that seems to be the going rate in this window. if Bale's off, we can afford to be generous anyway.
Years back I used to work at a far east airline and you would get passengers calling up and after they had spilled out their native surname and middle name, I would ask "Sir, whats your firs name"......Tony LOL or the Female "Madam, whats your first name?".......Jenny LOL Was difficult keeping a straight face!
Brian is the 14th most popular name in Argentina Source: List of 1146 Argentinia penpals names. I was suprised too.
A couple of things would explain that : 1. People in Hong Kong and Singapore often have English names 2. People in India, Sri Lanka etc usually give themselves an English name that they use in business.
