http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...21-job-following-Stuart-Pearce-departure.html Never thought I would say this, but I hope he stays with us - wouldn't expect it though if he gets the gig.
https://twitter.com/SamWallaceIndy That guy is a football correspondent for The Independent, he tweeted this an hour ago: " Sam Wallace ‏@SamWallaceIndy 1h Reliably informed that Gareth Southgate is to be appointed by the FA as new England Under-21s coach "
Seems a strange choice to me. Lets hope that the U21s don't end up in any penalty shot outs then! Anyway, good news IMHO. In this case the U21s loss is our gain, me thinks.
Just illustrates the shortsightedness of the FA and/or the lack of young English coaches (which is the FA's responsibility anyway) that should be given an opportunity to learn and develop in pressurized environment - instead they opt for a safe choice.
Excellent news. I'm convinced McLaren's work behind the scenes have been very beneficial to the club, and a big part in the togetherness and the improved performances from Hoilett etc. Hopefully this means McLaren will stay for the time being, at least the whole season.
Good news, there are a lot of positive vibes coming from the club about McClaren. However, I wouldnt want him as manager - a great coach, but not a great manager.
Never thought I'd say this, too ................ but Mclaren, so far, seems to be a good fit with our club so I'm glad he'll stay for a while longer. As I've always said, I've got him down for manager, whether halfway through this season or next, I trust it will happen.
And to think 50% + of this forum were using McClarens appointment as the next stick to beat the club with. How times change eh!
Glad to say I defended the McClaren appointment when it happened. Would be delighted to see him stay as HR's assistant for two years and then take the reigns when HR retires after successfully keeping us in the PL for a year.
