The Metro has actually used some common sense in their storytelling, in that the first payment has to be big enough to cover the total first payments that would be due on the other Spurs incomings (assuming they are all 50% upfront like for Soldado) . But we shall see on Coentrao (although it would explain why the deals were separate - they could not count on him leaving) .
BREAKING: Bale spotted near Madrid! please log in to view this image Sorry, lads. I couldn't resist. Bale leaving might turn out to be the best thing to happen to Spurs in years.
Haha that's been on Twitter for a couple of days now. Must admit when I first saw the "Bale spotted..." line I was quick to open it with a sense of dread I'm optimistic there's a silver lining though, we've managed to bring in some fantastic players and potentially 2 top draw players are also being targeted so overall, the team as a whole will be stronger than last years.
Agreed. You are much stronger with Soldado, Capoue, Chadli, Willian, Lamela and Coentrao(?) than just Bale. I'm dreading coming to WHL more now if i'm honest.
Apparently BR has said they have moved on since Willian. at Liverpool fans on twitter just wait for the rage again now.
Fair enough. Still a strong lineup. I think AVB will still be looking at leftbacks. Someone like Baines?
I hope he is, Baines won't come here, if he leaves it will be utd unless they've pissed off Everton too much for a bid to be accepted. I can't think of any other good left backs we could get.
Am not going to judge this willian guy completely (if he signs) and until he plays, but his goal scoring stats from the Ukrainian league don't say much for his end product. He usually scores 3-5 league goals a season, and that's facing mediocre defenders. He has had 2 caps for Brazil at the age of 25 and Brazil don't have the talent of years before so are actually quite short on wingers, so if he was that good you would think he would have featured more. Anyhow I'll keep an open mind until he signs and put my concerns to one side, yet 30 million for a player who is unproven at international level, top end domestic league football and 25, does mean this is a risk, no matter what anyone says.
I didn't think Baines was an option, using him more as an example. Someone like Domenico Criscito, Italian LB at Zenit. He's a good player. Don't know how much he'd cost though, probably around £15m-£20m.
"i still wonder whether there is another master stroke from Levy with the Bale deal." Bet Perez feels like one of the gang in The Usual Suspects. Keyser Levy !!!
Baines is over rated as a defender, hes superb attacking but in terms of defending gets exposed quite often and our problem at left back is defending, we don't need another attack minded full back, we need a superb defender who can push forward when needed.
Well Criscito is good doing both from what I've seen. Playing for Italy probably helps the defensive side of his game.
AVB wants a fairly quick attacking one i think. I've never heard of that chap. Either that or we're stringing Real along and the plan is for Bale to be LB, lol
You're welcome to have him. He is, imo, massively over priced at 30mill. His goalscoring and assist making are pretty poor for what is a far worse league in terms of quality. Never wanted him at that price. I'd be looking at 20mill tops and even that's a gamble. Someone like Lamela though, I'd be hugely jealous of if you got him. Brilliant player - is he nailed on now or just speculation? Also, I wanted Bale to stay with you because you'll be a far better team without him. One man won't push you towards consistent top4 or higher, but 90mill of quality players will. Shame
I've heard of him, but he would cost a fortune. Russian/Ukrraine clubs buy players european clubs are unsure of at first, turn them into stars and make a killing. Shaktar sold Willian to Anzi, now they are buying Bernard who they will sell for a fortune in coming years. Well run clubs, but wouldn't want to deal with them often!
