Sensi World of Soccer was brilliant Every league in the world was in it John Hughes was a speed merchant
Efan Ekoku had the perfect stats and he was only £1m The world leagues were useful if you wanted to play South African teams with your mates. Heart of Oak vs Dangerous Darkies (no kidding ) ****, that takes me back. There was a game called Goal on the Amiga that was basically Kick Off 3 but Celtic had a blue away strip in it. Man United Europe didn't have any black players in it so Paul Ince was a straight up honky as was John Barnes in the Liverpool FC game.
I used to think Goal was the dog's bollocks but in truth it was ****e, then Sensi came along and blew my world.
International Karate+ on the Spectrum, now you are talking. 3 players in Man on Man action, one of ST's favourites apparently.
When you won the world cup, there was a single screen of your team holding the cup and pressing the d-pad would flash as if they were getting their photos taken. I never had a speccy The first football game I ever played was called Mexico '86 in an arcade
I remember italia 90 for the sega. the ball always sounded flat when the kicked it Bib's memory is impressive
There were no fouls in Italia '90 and it was explained in the manual with the game that "all the players are model professionals and do not commit fouls" which meant you could slide in through the back of folk. Was it Italia 90 that had the selection screen where whatever country you selected, it played an 8-bit version of the national anthem or was that an earlier game?
There was one I remember on the mega drive that was pre-loaded on it. It looked down on the pitch, so your players were circles with wee bits at the side for arms. That played really **** national anthems, and I think it may have had Great Britain as a team <herewegoagain>
That's the one - but it was only pre-loaded on later issues of the console - I had a cartridge for it - can't remember the name. The pre-loaded games on my Master system were the motorbike version of Outrun (HangOn) and Duck Hunt The old trick of breathing on the gun to mist up the sensor before your sibling got a shot of Duck Hunt took ages to stop being funny
My brother got the mega drive in 1993 for xmas and I got mega drive pyjamas because I was 5. Gave me the ****ing beel so it did. It had the football game and sonic pre loaded, but we couldn't figure it out at 1st, so my mum went to the shop and complained we never got the games Told her to turn it on with no cartridge in and hey presto! Emylyn Hughes on the commodore 64 was amazing though, better than Fifa nowadays.
"and you're specialist subject is....." "****ing throughout the nineties" please log in to view this image I still maintain the best game on the Master System was Psycho Fox - the best platform game there was and Sonic came out about 6 months later and was quadruple the speed kinda blowing it away which was a shame. please log in to view this image
