I am sure he'll be back in the Premier League next season, probably with the champions. Welcome back Gareth!
On the other hand, Ronaldo has made it clear he will not be a happy camper if Bale comes and he is yesterday's news in Madrid. Who better to offload him to than his compatriot, in a place where Portuguese is rapidly becoming the first language?
He'll be decent as he's a talented player. However, I think the fans are going to be expecting superman for that sort of money. -therefore no matter what he does, it will never be enough, IMO We should also be putting a clause in the contract that arsenal cannot do any business with them for "x" amount of time. That'll write off any chance of arsenal getting ADM and KB!
It's a risky move for him, one I wouldn't take if I was him while things are going so well for him currently. I guess sports people who make the top of their profession have a different mentality though and just instinctively back themselves. It could be a disaster, they're much more technical over there and I don't think his long lung busting runs will be as effective so he'll be relying more on his set pieces, which ronaldo also takes, his ball striking and his crossing (all of which are damn good but will it be enough?)
Not my type. Far to short, a sort of skinny version of Kojak without the character and all the style of an accountant. Net spend will prove , if our owners are taking us to Arcadia . Do Leopold's change their spots ? We should wait and see, but it is exciting.
Something worth noting about our transfers so far, and in reply to some question about five to ten pages back about wages: Everything I've read about wages our new players were on at their old clubs or numbers that have been thrown around about what we're paying them have all been relatively modest. Latest rumour I just read was that Lamala's wages are to be 2.4m euros a year! That's "only" 40k a week. And I'm sure I read that that was what Soldado was on at Valencia (or maybe we were doubling it to that!?). So that's numbers that are probably comparable to Bentley/Gallas' wages if not lower. And Bale is reportedly on 75k+ which would become 100+ should he stay. If/when Bale goes Ade could be head and shoulders above everyone else for wages! But I wouldn't be surprised if all the new boys were on pretty reasonable wages.
@brianlamela , brother of Erik, has all but confirmed that lamela is joining us, if you look at his tweets. He's rewteeting stuff from spurs fans and making subtle hints without directly saying "he's a spurs player".
Harry Mahoney ‏@HarryMahoney10 8h @brianlamela Tottenham or Liverpool for Erik? Brian Lamela ‏@brianlamela 8h @HarryMahoney10 i can'T speak..
How do we know thats his brother? Is there something on twitter that confirms it? What is to stop me starting up @KarimBenzema (assuming it doesn't exist) and starting to WUM Arsenal?
This is true, but why would he do that and then say "I can't speak". Would be a strange and subtle wum.
Sounds really horrible but I hope he either flops or gets a long term injury. Not out of spite towards Gareth, I have complete respect for him but just so it really pisses Madrid off at the fact they would've spent a world record fee on either a flop or someone who's going to be out of action for a while. I lost respect for Madrid last year with Modric but they went way over the top with their tapping up with Bale, I'd really enjoy seeing Madrid relegated... Would never happen... Though Football Manager could help me out with that My personal opinion though would be Gareth would do well for them. He won't outshine Ronaldo (though who can?!) but I think he'll be a great addition to their side. With Ronaldo and Bale coming at you, it's a bloody scary thought!
i still don't think they'll win the league though, or the champions league. Which is pretty hilarious
SSN apparently saying Willian has passed medical but weighing up his options. Personally don't believe it as Capoue deal took a little time too.
