Might as well get the daily thread going. My main bet tomorrow will be in the last, and it's last years winner York 17:55 - Dutch Rose. 10/1 Will be absolutely primed for this.

I'm also keeping the faith in Secret Gesture - 15:40. 9/1. Who i still believe is top class despite getting beat the last twice. Redemption is coming!!

3.40 York Yorkshire Oaks Is there an obvious reason why Spencer keeps the ride on R Beckett's Secret Gesture instead of Jim Crowley who has ridden the horse 4 times previously ??

Yep, she runs in the Qatar racing club silks of Sheikh Fahad Al Thani and Spencer is the retained jockey for them. They snapped her up after her Oaks trial run win at Lingfield and that was the last time Crowley rode her.

Has anyone noticed how many runners David O'Meara has in the 3.05pm at York?. He has 5 which means he's covering a quarter of the field. I actually quite fancy Andereigo in this race. He wasnt far away in this race last year and is dropping down the handicap and has excellent course form. Anyone got any views on this ones chances? Around the 25/1 mark or greater surely a smashing each way punt albeit a bit of a lottery race..

Watching the Spanish Super Cup here at the moment and Barcelona's new away Jersey is horriffic...it represents their Catalan flag and is red and yellow stripes, reminds me of those cushion sweets I used to get when i was younger only difference is the sweets were nice the jersey's not so. Good game btw and a cracking atmosphere.

How is LUCKY KRISTALE not favourite for the Lowther? 3-1 looks a stonkingly good bet. If she was with Hannon she would be 6-4!

Yeah and trying to walk the ball into the net wasn't exactly working for them. Iniesta had a nightmare in the second half..bad touches, lost the ball a lot, and didnt take a shot that he would normally slide away easily. poor poor finish for all their possession.

anyway for me tomorrow I think Wentworth will follow up in the 3.05, Nurpur for ryan moore in the lucky last at 6s, and also having a decent lump on J Wonder 2.30 as I got a lovely return on an accum today with the winner of the last at N.A. :1980_boogie_down: would have been an even better day if Qawaffy had got her head in front but I'll survive!

Good luck all and great tipping on here as usual! ;)

I agree Stick. J Wonder does look good but the form for Lucky Kristale is the best in this field by a million miles. Rizeena ran a cracking race behind vorda and no nay never in France the other day and she was put well in her place by lucky kristale last time.

Having said that this is flat racing. Form means **** all! Expect the 33/1 outsider to win....

Stick, will the penalty stop her?

My one today is the best horse running on the card. The Fugue all the way for me.

Not sure why Cushion is twice the price of Songbird in the EBF Galtres Stakes. She finished as well as anything at Newbury, has been progressing steadily, and looks easily up to Listed class. 9/1 is a cracking e/w bet to give Buick and Gosden some compensation should their other filly disappoint again in the previous race.

Morning all - i quite fancy Riposte in teh yorkshire Oaks. very taken with her victory in the ribblesdale and can forgive her the run in Ireland. More to the point it wouldnlt be the first time taht the stable second wins especially with Mr Hughes on board.

Jeez, Oddy, what on earth was that 57-year-old guy doing all the time? Erm, jacking-off or playing 'Hearts' on the Spiel section of the internet? Love that business about he 'installed a surveillance camera' to find out what was going on. <laugh>
Agree, I too have seen it all now..............(ONE YEAR???) <doh>

Oh, in the first at York (13:55) Oasis Town e/w at 12/1 will do for me.
    GL all!

    Apologies to NassauBoard.

On yesterday's daily thread, I said that Bogart was third favourite in the first race at York but it was second favourite. I thought that Ladyship was 13/2 but it was in fact 17/2 (backed from 11/1) whilst the favourite Above Standard was 4/1 (from 11/2) having checked in this morning's Racing Post.

In the last race, that 12/1 winner was co-seventh favourite in a field of fourteen. That hardly makes it one of the fancied runners; and the bookies only paid each-way on the first three so the prices of the fourth, fifth and sixth were irrelevant.

Both of those races were sprints on the straight course so punters should have had a fair chance of gauging how the races were going to be run according to where the pace was drawn in the race. That is unlike races on the round course where you just have to hope that your horse does not suffer from the way the race is run.

The other handicap was two miles and the winner Broxbourne was one that I fancied last time out but it ran at the Ascot Mickey Mouse meeting. I did not see the race but it was no surprise that it was second favourite as it has shown consistent form all season.
