Nice if true, but lets hope we are not gazumped by someone else http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6965890,00.html when its here I believe it http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Home
Palace have said that they think Neil Danns is leaving them on a free to a lower Premiership Club. Could that be us? Also, I think we will have a decent shout at getting Jack Cork.
Fantastic signing if it comes true and I wonder if its come out of the money from our season ticket boom, seeing that on averaging out the price of one at about £350, then that alone is well over £5 million in revenue alone without the money we've got from the playoffs which is probably a fair chunk as well? Does anyone actually know how much those playoffs earned our club from the gate receipts and also being shown on sky??
Will we get anything from Wembley? I read something about there being a recent tradition of the winners handing their cut to the losers. As much as I think we need every penny we can get, if this is true, I would not like us to be the club to break it. I suppose it depends on what both clubs agreed beforehand.
does anyone fancy making a graphics request for other members? i'l happily make sigs and avatars for people
yea the wembley gate money goes to Reading. But from what I heard, Reading will probably just about break even when you take into accounts bonuses and things like that
Didn't Brendan buy him when he was at watford for that short period?? so i think he has got that "friendship" started already so hopwfully he'll just agree to a contract now! How much do you reckon we'll pay him, wage's wise??
Well thats the thing, watford may agree the fee, it doesn't mean that he agrees the wages we offer, so have no idea , but lets say between £25k-£35k a week maybe, with clauses if we come down, bloody hell we were buying players at that price a few years ago, Scotland !
Ha yeah! the contract negotiations are always the sore part. Sometimes leading to amazing delightful agreements but sometimes leaving sour stains! lets hope the some quality chats going on! Round of golf time i think they call it hahah!
I don't tend to take notice of football gossip as it's 95% gossip but all of a sudden i,m very keen on it.
what do people think about Gary Taylor-Fletcher Kevin Phillips Victor Anichebe Abdoulaye Faye Daniel Gabbidon Victor Obinna Jay Bothroyd Chris Burke Kevin Kilbane Robbie Earnshaw Nathan Tyson ???????? Just thinking they are all out of contract and do offer plenty of solid abilities more some than other though....... also who you reckon would be great loan signings??
I think most of our signings are going to be young, amitious and quality players. Just like Danny Graham. He's only going to buy if they are better than what we've got.
Brendan has put in a bid for Matt Mills of Reading as he signed him there. Redaing have already made a bid for a replacement according to the News of the World
just read in on the Mirror football page that Newcastle have swooped in for Neil Taylor for £1m WTF http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...l-Taylor-in-cut-price-deal-article744300.html I hope this is not happening as we need to be strengthening the back four not loosing them :-(
Can't see us selling our class young players? Fringe players no problem. Can we sell Pinbtado for a couple of million?
Pintado has been out for the last couple of months after doing his knee ligaments. Hope he´s ok but we should be looking to offload him.
Bad planning by the Swans if this is true. Taylor might well have wanted a buy-out clause in his initial contract but I think he was so pleased to get an offer from a good standard club, he either would have waived it entirely or could have been persuaded to agree to a more realistic figure, for us, of say, £2 million or more. It's a question of "just in case" isn't it? When a club signs a young player like Taylor they would have no idea of how he is going to progress. But, conversely, the player would have shown obvious signs of potential to trigger the signing in the first place. With that in mind the club should have protected themselves by insisting on a realistic buy-out clause - obvious insurance to me. Would Taylor have refused to sign under these circumstances? I doubt it. He was a young, hungry non-league player seeking a contract with a good club to break into the system and launch his career. Imo, this low figure should never have been accepted by the club. The article goes on to say that Swansea are furious about how this clause, if in fact it does exist, came into the public domain - and how did Toon find out about it? Easy. From the player himself? From his agent? From friends and/or family? Swansea are being very naive if they believe that the contents of any player's contract will remain confidential. If a player deems it to be in his interest to leak the details in order to further his career, he will do so without a second thought. Players are greedy by nature; loyalty plays no part whatsoever in today's breed. The club should know this and should have shown more business sense in protecting their asset. And, please, no posts about us showing a good profit on him if he goes. Why accept £1 million if we could have got 3 or 4 down the line? This is not to mention that, in the context of our present position, £1 million is peanuts, plus the disruption that this might cause the team. We can only hope that this is speculation. In any event, the club should ensure that future buy-out clauses reflect more realistic figures than the one in question.
Agreed Ivor, maybe the Swans are just too used to thinking "if we sign someone for anything up to 200k, and end up getting 1mil+ for him, it´s a good bit of business"? Personally, I´d say it´s speculation. From the rest of the content on that journos twitter feed, he´s clearly peddling absolutely any name and club he can get his hands on... that and I refuse to believe anything I read from a paper which has a red banner/the name "The Daily Mail" at the top.
