He had a similar shots-to-goals ratio as J-Rod. ie. can't hit a barn door, unless it has a picture of a goalkeeper on it! Missed some sitters at Swansea.
Horrendous last season, not great the season before, good the season before that - I made it clear I wasn't writing him off and that he'd be solid if he could sort out the consistent side of his mental game. And for what it's worth, I'm not saying I'd hate the Sinclair signing - I just made a point that if he plays like he did at Swansea, we'd have a pretty good but certainly not amazing player.
In the case of Lovren think their fans ended up effecting his play. With Sinclair he chose the wrong move after doing well for Swansea.
If people hear that with the rumours of Shaw being subject to interest from Chelsea and Man Utd people will put the two together and think we are selling him. Despite the club beating clear he will stay and himself saying he wants to.
Not that bothered with the Sinclair signing. I see it as a straight swap in that he will be on the bench. Wasn't that impressed by him at Swansea TBH just as I wasn't that impressed by Rogers' Swansea. The media hyped them up to be this great fluid footballing side much like us but they hardly scored any goals (like us at the minute) Plus he is a really bad ball greedy player. I think he would get told in no uncertain terms by the other players and would then go in a sulk for the rest of the season. Still squad depth and all that.
If Sinclair was to join us that might drag a certain Miss Flannigan with him which in turn would result in a certain Sun Newspaper always around looking for a story. I say we could do better... Also good luck to Danny Butterfield. Will do well for Carlisle.
I really cannot stand Ian Holloway. When a reporter at his pre-match presser asked if the reason he had been on the phone beforehand was to do with transfers he replied... "What you think I'm ordering shopping, do you, or something? Bit of a silly question son, really. Of course it is." Seriously, what is his issue? He always bites the media's head off. Just as you are only there to fulfil your engagements, they are too! Guy's a moron with an over-inflated opinion of himself.
He's just agitated that his defensive Palace plan isn't working, so he's resorted to building Blackpool 2.0 (They also got relegated) Hate how he says 'son' though, trying to sound wise and condescending.
Sounds like just the kind of answer Strachan would have given. All about perspective really isn't it?
I like to say "young man" as that sounds even more condescending and on the wiseness scale I come out OK. Always remember some men are wise while some men are otherwise. Mr Holloway is otherwise. Sometimes.
Well, yes - if your latter comment refers to the signings of Hooper and RvW, if it's based on them adding Elmander too, perhaps not. Elmander doesn't worry me in the slightest and is a bit of a duff signing, IMO.
