He's a good squad player with a good work ethic. Get rid of the shirkers first.

Agree, Cattermole should be out the door before Vaughan, at least Vaughan offers cover in a bit more creative/possession role and for £1M we arent going to spend less than that on cover.

Injuries to Cabral and we are very low on quality and physical presence in CM, especially with N'Daiye gone.

Personally wouldnt let him go now unless we brought in two midfielders which isn't going to happen.

My first big gripe with Paolo is the inclusion of Sebastian 'Invisible Man' Larsson in the centre of midfield. Vaughan is a million times better in centre mid.

He is like, I am all in favour of the revolution but you cant do it all in one window, £1M is nothing to a football club and we wouldnt get a replacement any cheaper.

Vaughan does nothing for me, one game he can be decent but for the next three he becomes invisible just like Larsson. I'd sell and keep Catts who I think is the better player.

I don't know where the logic was in letting Alfie go out on loan to play Seb in the middle.

Yes indeed he is a good squad player who can be relied on I hope we have someone lined up before we get rid or we will end up again with all replacements and that thin squad again

Yes but we need a replacement first before we let these squad players leave

    Bring another new midfielder in?

When Ellis told PDC he wanted 10 players, Number 6, I think Mr Short wanted tabs.

Then why in gods name do you want Catts out the door? When you know if Cabral gets injured we've no like for like DM to give us a fighting chance against top sides and away from home. We had no like for like replacement when catts got injured last year and had to play Alfie (box to box cm) there. It was disastrous to our season. Why would you want to leave us thin again when you've already identified a potential problem?

You're all over the place mate and I'm confused with your comments.

Why would you want rid when it's clear a replacement wouldn't be signed?

Could be a blessing in disguise if he's given a chance once he's fully fit. He's a better option than Larsson in cm.

I like Catts he has had bad injuries yes but when he is on his game he is brilliant. Against Man City at home in 2011 when Ji scored the winner he was unbelievable. If PDC can get him fit & playing like that he is the perfect partner for Cabral

I'll be happy if Catts stays

Not that bothered about Vaughan, a move would be good for him to get his career back on track

I'm a fan of Vaughan and will be dissapointed to see him leave. £1 million for David Vaughan is a bargain if that is the price the club decide to sell him for. I'd say he is worth £3 million at the very least.

Vaughan is one of these players that we never had the chance to see how good he could be have become had he been offered the opportunity to start regular game, a bit like Bolo Zenden, mostly wasted. I'd certainly be playing Vaughan ahead of Larsson in the middle, Larsson isn't even a natural centre mid.

I think Vaughan would be a better match than both Cattermole and Larsson due to his willingness to get forward and have a shot along with his distribution.

Will always be a legend for his goal at St James Park in my eyes.

Vaughan is how old? His career has been and is going to go only one way.
