To be fair, Ancelotti picked Diego Lopez to start again against Betis... Reckon he sees him as the number 1

Well as people are saying, Puncheon has family in Croydon and wants to be closer to them for whatever reason. He's hardly the first name on the team-sheet so why tell him he can't go?

Ah didn't see that. If that's the case then maybe there is something in it. Although it could equally be journalists adding 2 and 2 and getting 5 again.

I think Sinclair could be an amazing piece of business for us.. I think our stability and togetherness will see him become what he was becoming at Swansea.

I meant more the bringing Sinclair in instead. Surely you bring in better than what you let go?

Or in our case, when you have so much depth in that position that what you let go wasn't making the bench anyway, perhaps you don't bring in anyone.

Overrated? His stats for Swansea in their first season in the Premier League suggest not. 8 goals and a number of assists for a newly promoted side. More than our wingers got last season, so why wouldn't it seemingly be an improvement?

excluding penalties, puncheon had better stats in fewer games, he's hardly much of an upgrade.

The Shaw story is annoying as ****, alot of the articles basically read like he's gone already.

3 or 4 of them were penalties, and he wouldn't get them here, so I'm not exactly getting excited over that - that's less from open play than Punch, for one. His 5 assists are fewer than the likes of Lallana and Rodriguez, who played considerably fewer games, also in a newly promoted side, so yeah, he's very overrated since people think he was something magnificent for Swansea. Chuck in a year on the bench and he wouldn't exactly be "amazing" for us to get.

Well, he might be better (nobody really knows of course since he has barely played in a year). The thing is though, we're losing a player so the bottom line is we need to replace him with someone who, if not better, is of a similar quality which I believe Sinclair is. And he still has quite a lot of potential to improve.

He won't change my mind that he was massively overrated for Swansea, as Lovren won't change my mind that he was crap for Lyon! They can't rewrite history.

Just a rehash of what happened before he signed his new contract. He doesn't want to leave and Saints don't want him to leave. End of story.

Sinclair for mine would be like jayr rod but suited to playing wide and a better allround footballer. Would be a top signing. I rated punch and i think he would be great off the bench, sinclair might not be much better but i would rather have him than not.

Spot on TSS. Remember the player said, “I’m very pleased to have finally signed it.“I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my future, but all of the Saintsfans will have known that I committed my future in January.
“I’ve been here since I was eight and I’ve loved every single moment of it. I want to stay at this club, and signing this contract means I’m here for another five years.”
