I think like others he'd be a great acquisition, would complete the experience spine of the team MT at back JE middle KP front. A very experienced striker of his type would complement bringing through academy players to first team fast track, additional purchaes could/should then be high potential players around 18-20 yrs on the cheap. Now if only Scotty steps up a gearbox next season and we get in a couple of left backs we're sorted.
You would've thought that someone might offer him more wages than us....... He might have to move home too.
Don't know what his wages would be, but pressume they would be affordable. Can't really see a negative to signing him up. Think he could still do a great job for us.
A club of our size won't have top class players at their peak. We have them on the way up or the way down. But why are we so snobby about having them on their way down? If Walsall can afford him so can we, he's older and more efficient with his use of energy and would eat up Championship defences. Youth is a good thing, but it's not everything.
Morning Norway! I think K.Phillips would be a great signing! HH wasn't at the peak of his career when he joined on loan and did the job, and KP still has what it takes.
I hate to say this but I have reservations about KP coming back to the Vic. If he does come back he needs to be used as an impact player as there is no way he could last the season as our No 1 striker. We need someone who can get 20 plus goals a seaon if we want to progress and push for promotion!
Morning Al! I know KP wouldn't last all season as our main striker, but he could easily play his part throughout the season. I think Sordell will step up and be our main striker, with Deeney and Phillips taking turns to partner him up front. Also, having an older player can only help experience-wise.
True, but decent strikers cost a fortune, and there aren't that many DGs out there to be bought for peanuts.
I think like the last couple of seasons , our main aim is 52 points and survival! especially with a lesser budget than last term !,that and getting closer to self sustainability! all this depends on what Mr B`s true intentions are! Because if he doesnt keep MM were stuffed!
KP could be for us what Ledley King is for Spurs - a player you want to have in your squad as when he plays he will boost performance and when he does not his presence is totally positive
