I thought that earlier when I heard on the radio they were 2-0 down but then I figured "its the championship, its totally mental" They are amongst the favourites for promotion but that means not a lot in league that swings all over the place.
Barney may have scored, but he got done by Theo Robinson for Donny's opener. And their second was scored by Chris Brown. He seems to have got a new lease of life.
i simply don't rate their manager, owen coyle. i'm prepared to be proven wrong and for the sake of holty and leon i hope i am, but i think in his head he think he's a legend - in reality he's yet another of the 'merry-go-round' managers who aren't particularly good. he's already switched their 'style' to long ball, despite having a reputation for neat football (which has always been a myth based on him having wilshere for half a season). i think playing in europe will take its toll and i'd be extremely surprised if wigan feature in the top six, despite having in my opinion, the strongest team in the championship
I was listening to the match last night, not watching, but I got the distinct impression Wigan are suffering from the familiar "we are better than you, we just have to turn up to win" syndrome often displayed by relegated teams. You would have thought their loss at Bournemouth would have dispelled that. That's now 1 pt from a possible 6 from two successive matches against newly promoted teams. They need to shake the hangover off quickly. (And maybe those of us expecting our team to trample over Hull on Saturday would care to take note!)
Even less impressive with a 2-2 draw last night at home to Donny - Good to see LB score another one for them though.
