Don't see how anyone can keep making excuses for Wenger, just look at the business Spurs are doing, if Spurs can do it, why can't we? This whole saga has been a disgrace.
This highlights that we badly need (at least) a director of football, and probably a new manager too.
I agree that AW should go, but to praise spurs who only just managed to beat Crystal Palace thanks to a penalty that wasn't a penalty, would be wrong. Sure spurs have bought some new faces, but it is too early to say if they are good buys or not. They could all turn out to be as cack as Holtby I would rather buy quality late and let them buy average players early.
What spurs needed on Sunday was a CAM able to break through a defence. In Lamela, they'd have that. Spurs are serious contenders for the league if they sign Lamela, Willian and Coentrao
The thing is, if Spurs sign all these players, it renders all Wengers usual excuses invalid No value in the market Can't compete with the moneybags clubs Right players not available Clubs won't sell their best players
Anyone watching PSV vs AC Milan? Considering we're linked to Bakkali and Wijnaldum, i figured i'd do a scouting run.
As I said, I am not a Wenger fan, but who says these players that spurs have signed would be good enough for us? I hope we are after quality relative to what we have now. The spurs signings would be a step back for us in most cases. If success is simply a matter of just signing players, we could go and raid Leyton Orient and declare it a marvellous window
David Ornstein ‏@bbcsport_david 12m He was highly rated a few years ago, but his development has stalled and with the likes Thiago Silva,Alex and Marquinhos ahead of him, he would probably be looking to leave.
Ah yes, because Yaya Sanogo was surely better than the players Spurs are signing right? Soldado is a top quality striker, Willian is a quality winger, and Paulinho is a top quality midfielder. These aren't simply players being signed for the sake of signing players, if you're comparing these players to the quality of Leyton Orient, then you truly are bat **** crazy. You ****ing apologists seriously have no shame do you? You will keep talking so much bull **** to excuse the disastrous transfer window this has been for us.
Willian? What part of my saying TWICE that I am not a fan of AW makes me an apologist? Your super spurs buys managed to scrape a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace FFS & that was only because of a penalty that should never have been given. You love spurs as much as you like, but take your head out of your arse from time to time because the lack of oxygen is giving you a weak brain.
Spurs did what good sides do, they were crap, but they still won, much like we did at the end of last season.
Saying you're not a Wenger fan, but then going on to make the same dumb apologists pr statements, makes you an apologist, sorry. Super Spurs managed to scrap a 1-0 win, who gives a ****, they still won didn't they? First game of the season, away, derby game, new team promoted who are up for it, and getting 3 points, that's not bad by my book. What did Super Arsenal do at home on the opening day? Yeah, that's right, got our asses kicked 3-1 with such a bare naked thin squad. And I ask again, you trying to say Spurs' signings may not be good enough for us, so is Yaya Sanogo better quality than Spurs' signings? It's you who needs to take your head out of Wenger's and Gazidis' ass because they making you stupid.
We won because palace were crap and our new team (which is devoid of creativity) got a lucky penalty. 1-0 to the boring tottenham, happy with the result but some of you on here are being over dramatic. There's no guarantee all our Signings will settle, if Soldado is injured we have defoe but Ade isn't anywhere to be seen. Yes there are positives but all this talk of us being title contenders is premature.
I thought we were all meant to be supporters of Arsenal Football Club.Calling other supporters names like apologists is to me just childish and pathetic
Not for me. It would make them firm favourites for 4th place but there's no way that side would finish above Chelsea, City or Utd. I said a while back that the worst thing that could happen to us is if Tottenham sold Bale, finding someone stupid enough to pay (if you believe tonights rumours) £93m will allow them to buy 4 quality players and strengthen across all areas. And for what it's worth, if players like Willian are valued at £30m+ then I don't believe we will ever (under Wenger) buy another player that will improve our team, our £70m warchest wouldn't even touch the sides of the gaps we have to fill....
I agree, I think it would be too early for them to challenge especially when you have a super strong Man City and Maureen around. But 3rd is a possibility, bartender Moyes is new to this game and RVP can only play so much. How on earth is this guy continuously playing, he was always injured for us! But if Wenger gets 4th with our woefully thin squad, then he will go down as the Champions League qualifying extraordinaire first class.
How will Willian be able to get a work permit ? I read earlier that he has only been capped twice by Brazil.I'm sure you must have played a certain percentage of competitive games to be granted a work permit
