Wasn't the best goalkeeping I've seen for a free kick, let's be honest, highly unlikely a Premier League keeper would be beaten with that.. Although I do acknowledge Borini's free kick skills, he does have some pretty good accuracy.
I think its a bit random who take sour corners. Its often whoever is closest so I don't think BR as set takers.
With our system, you're better off just playing them short, draw players towards the ball then give it to Gerrard or Coutinho to whip it in at around mid-height with some good weight behind it, usually catches defenders out. Either that or we play it to Suarez everytime to dribble past their whole team like he did against United
TBH, with the side we have I'd rather do a Barca; pass it backwards and start again. We are not the biggest side and the only player in the line-up that has a chance of scoring from a corner is Toure, that's going to be very hard to defend isn't it
First time saw it thought keeper should have saved it, then seeing the angle from behind the goal, the ball moves a ridiculous amount at the last moment. Good effort Fabio
If he gets on with it he will be our main man again. Whether he gets the backing of a main man from the fans is a different matter. He is in the Michael Owen ranks for me now
I would really love Borini to make it at the club. I feel the potential is there just needs the confidence. The free kick was Ronaldoesque in the technique. Good option to have if he's on the pitch. Gerrards shooting has been going downhill for a while. Whether its the new ball doesn't suit him but he rarely scores that wonder goals anymore.
I'm with KPH: I've decided I like Borini. He's trying. Hope he hits a purple patch to give real options up front!
Borinis season to prove himself " "I took them at Swansea but here it's difficult to take one with Steven Gerrard and others in the team!" If he consistently hits them like that then he needs to grow a pair and throw a Ballotelli on Gerrards ass
