    Not convinced. Mayuka may be given a chance to impress and Ramirez will probably play out wide. Add these two to Lallana, Rodriguez and our promising youngsters and we have enough wide players for me.

    Well Sharp ain't going to be getting any game time for us, best for him to go and play ... Cresswell is a promising LB who will be able to play/compete Luke Shaw for the slot.

    Surely Targett is our promising young left back ready to push Shaw for a starting place in time? Until Targett is ready we can play Yoshi or Lovren in the LB role if Shaw is injured.

    From what i've seen of the U21's and U18's over pre-season, Targett isn't ready yet. Shaw was a one off in terms of being mature enough both tactically and physically to break into the first team despite his age. I don't think we'll be seeing Targett in the first team for years. I think Clyne is the alternative to Shaw at left back, Poch has already shown with his selection of Chambers IMO that he considers CB and RB to require very different attributes
