I understand, just think we have to play out of our skin a la Newkie a few years ago to get that. I would like to see Aspas get a league goal soon, that would be massive for his confidence.

There's still quality players out there, this is where the scouting team come in, to find the Coutinho's and the Sturridges, because at the end of the day, for all Spurs good signings I wouldn't trade one of them for Coutinho. We've missed out, let's move on and find some one else. I don't consider our management naive enough to put all of our eggs in to one basket. Hopefully we have other deals going on behind the scenes, and come September the 2nd we'll have bought some one in.

I'm pretty sure that the 3 points we gained against Stoke on Saturday, is more than we've got aginst them in the last 4 times we've played them, combined.

    I'd say that's already a reason to be optimistic.:headbang:

    So, next targets?

    Munian?
    Jackson Martinez?
    Eriksen?

LFC tv have a message at the bottom on the tv, basically saying we've confirmed the signing of Cissokho, subject to completion of paper work.

Will hopefully hear more at 6:00

Fair play to Spurs if they finish off the deal.

Starting to be a little worried at our "apparent" inability to get a big signing over the finish line, not helped by the fact I have ZERO confidence in Ayre

I bet for the 30M Anzi want for Willian? We "could" get Eriksen, Toby and Papa for that much?
If that was the reason given by the Liverpool board why we walked away, would you abuse or praise them?

It is about quality not quantity, and about signing the right players for the job.

Depends if we spend that money elsewhere. I'd rather have overpaid a little for Willian (he's still quality) than start the new season without an extra few players.

  13. The £30m plus selling Skrtel and Coates would definitely get us them but I fear thats FM mode <laugh>

Are they not quality players? Have most LFC Fans not been banging on about Eriksen and Papa all off season, now we miss out on Willian all of a sudden these guys aren't good enough?

Would never know, never played the sodding game!

  15. I wouldn't say Alder is a quality player, he is a poor man's right footed Agger and some of us question Agger's ability <laugh>

He would be an improvement of Coates but I'd rather let Wisdom and/or Kelly take up the position instead. Papa and Eriksen, I would be over the moon with. Christian would mean ford staying out wide though

They are quality. But are they right for the job?

Apparently we are put off by Papa's fitness at the current time.

Alderweireld is not the right type of CB that we need.

Erikson is not a LF, which is what Rodgers seems to want.

Seriously, just wish we would have paid the extra 5 - 7m that Anzhi wanted, it winds me up even more due to the fact that Willian said he wanted to play for us, someone of his talent should be snapped up straight away.

If we'd spent a lot of money the season already then I'd understand it more but we've near enough broke even, and even if we haven't then we haven't particularly spent a lot considering the players we've brought in. Seriously think we've missed out on Willian.

I'd still welcome them. But it really does look like Erikson is not who Rodgers wants.

Who wants to make a bet on Erikson signing deadline day?

Or they could play in a flexible three behind the main striker, and give opposition teams a right run around?
