Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has been charged with improper conduct and bringing the game into disrepute by the Football Association. It follows comments made after his side's match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Palace lost the game 1-0 to a Roberto Soldado penalty awarded by referee Mark Clattenburg after Aaron Lennon's cross struck Dean Moxey's outstretched arm. Holloway has until 16:00 BST on 23 August to respond to both charges.
I went on a Palace site afterwards and most of their fans seem to totally disagree with their manager! Some even said he shouldn't start moaning already as it will only increase the "bias" against them.
Or even the other way around, as for Barnes and Blissett - born elsewhere but played for England. Too many to count I suspect. Playing for your country doesn't mean what it used to years ago....
Well I was 'best mates' at primary school with Craig Mackail-Smith, the Scotland striker born and raised in our very own Watford!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23779710 Surely can't be right - not Hollowhead signing players on loan...... is that allowed?
If Ian Holloway needs to find out what a foul is he should not be a football manager. And how can he complain when his team had more penalty kicks last season.
ah come come OFH - schadenfreude is a very ugly trait - ah who am i kidding? - best news of the week!
So Hollowhead is now complaining abiut the transfer window. He wants it scrapped because it causes him too much stress. He is struggling to bring players in, I wonder why. Who would want to join the SS sinking ship that is Crystal Palarse? But the best thing about this rant is that he is now complaining that he can only have 2 loan players. And that English players are overpriced, just look at what he paid for Gayle (he overpaid by about 5,000,000imo). But I thought foreign players were the root of all evil and loan players were ruining the game. Oh how the tables have turned! http://www1.skysports.com/football/...oway-calls-for-transfer-window-to-be-scrapped
Rumour on twitter - Liverpool set to move again for Tom Ince this week #LFC #BFC #NUFC #CCFC Let's hope they are successful before Saturday.
So Hollowhead has been punished. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23772682 I can see a couple of fourth officials breathing a sigh of relief.
I think that this article shows that Mr Holloway failed to get his maths beyond counting on his fingers. http://m.skysports.com/article/football/8906552
Interesting that Palace are saying that divers should get red cards. With the amount of penalties they received last season (15 for, only 4 against) they wouldn't all have been legit.
By god, can you imagine the stink if he had played for Utd on Saturday - the weasel would have exploded.
