#EasierToReadForStupidPeopleLikeMe #ImStartingANewHashtagCraze! Back on Topic, should be a good game, would like it not to be "End to End", would like to see Gerrard, Lucas and Henderson control the midfield and allow us to get hold of the ball and play our current brand of football, also, as its been said before, need Kolo to keep Benteke in his pocket, IF we can do that then we'll get a positive result out of this game!
We like to play keep ball and build slowly. Although capable, we're not a counter-attacking side. However, having said that the game is at Villa Park so they won't be able to just sit back and soak up the pressure either. PS...Need to get it back on topic, Magic's already fell out with me a couple of times today
I remember last year when we played Villa I had to spend the afternoon in a garden centre. I thought no worries, I wil lget home latewr and see a positive result for us and it will have all been worth while.... Got home and we were losing 3-0. I was pissed right off. Garden centre and a loss all in one day. This saturday i will not be going anywhere near a garden centre. Fully agree that we should control the midfield and not allow it to be end to end. Villa are very good on the counter. (Even if not good at anything else.)
i actually think LFC will score more goals on counter attack than by tippy tappy. henderson, coutinho and sturridge are dynamic players. if you get the ball to gerrard quick and these guys are breaking we can score goals on the counter. suarez aint got the pace really he plays on intelligence, average pace... no i think if a side does one of two things we can get wins... first is press their midfield up on our team as we pass it... one or two passes takes 6 players out of it... second is to attack us in waves letting us counter. I really thin we will have more threat to a top 4 side in breaking fast than we will in trying to hold possession for long spells.
If I remember correctly, Villa pressed us all over the pitch last year and used Benteke's pace as an out ball.
I still have a smile on my face today remembering the game on Saturday... I heard someone say on a podcast that when Stoke got that penalty every LFC fan's week was about to be ruined but Mignolet saved us from that, true
I think toure is the ideal player to deal with benteke. Last season at Anfield it was skrtel (I think) and Agger. Toure with his experience should handle him. Only real worry is in the air so mingolet needs to be on his toes and dominate the area. Be a massive let down to loose so we need to take our chances and stop being soooo wasteful. Not hit the woodwork and aim away from the keeper...that should work
yes, it takes quality to make the couple of passes it takes to cut a side open. i would love villa to press us again. they play 4-3-3 though so its a bit different to the old 4-4-2 where you can suck a team right in.
Think we just need to be careful with Agbonlahor. I reckon Toure can cope with Benteke better than Agger/Skrtel did in the last game, but we need to be careful of them hitting us on the break with Agbonlahor's pace. I don't think they're anything special in defence or midfield to be honest so as long as we can control those 2 I'd fancy our chances.
Well, if I was their manager, I'd tell them to press us and no matter what, do not let Gerrard have time on the ball (maybe even get their AM type player to sit on him when defending). I'd get players t double up on Ford too (not man mark him, just double up when he gets the ball)
Benteke is very quick..Liverpool can deprive him of services. We cannot say anything about team news until after Chelsea game.
