Paulinho, Capoue, Soldado, Lamela, Willian, Chadli. All of them would walk in to our starting line-up
Think City's will more or less come off, not so sure about Chelsea's, they've looked decent from what I've seen though.
Spurs are more than contenders for the top 4. Lloris Walker - Dawson - Kaboul - Contreao Paulinho - Sandro - Dembele Lamela - Soldado - Willian Add in all the other players that would be competing for places, coupled in with the fact they haven't actually net spent a lot, selling players like Jake Livermore, Tom Huddlestone and Scott Parker for good prices and also rumours they very may well spend further on Eriksen and Alderweirald, I'd say Spurs have a FM/Fifa style team that you'd dream of building with the funds raised from a sale like Gareth Bale for £80m.
How is that similar to MFG?? MFG would have written then same, but then said "...but all this would have been different if my lord and saviour king kenny and his fabulous signings were still here, had nasty FSG not sacked him and booted the rest out the door, without a chance"...
Always felt Spuds would be a stronger team if they sold Bale for anything close to what was reported. No player is worth that much to a team when you consider who else you could buy with that money. I'd say that team is stronger than United's on paper, but the defense could still use some work.
Put Vertongen in for Dawson/Kaboul and you have an immense team.. There were even rumours of them being in for Papa too
Spurs have done us a favor, they've taken away this "only big clubs can get big players" excuse that FSG have been using when we missed out on Mkh and Costa. From the players they've signed this summer, I'd say 4 of them would walk into a CL team. Spurs, a club who have been in the CL once in the last twenty odd years, have won 1 trophy in the last 20 years, have managed to get these players when they really shouldn't have had a chance. Why can't Liverpool do this?
They have a spare 93million coming into the transfer fund Mkhitaryan had a choice between the CL runners up and Liverpool (although we didn't actually make a bid), so that was a no go. Costa I have no clue on. Willian isn't even decided yet. Latest I heard was that Spuds haven't even made a bid despite what all the media are running with - although Willian's agents have spoken to them about making an offer.
I'm guessing Costa used LFC interest to improve his contract - which worked as he signed an extension. A lot of media outlets, including Andy Hunter and Barrett have said that Spurs outbid us and we didn't raise our initial bid so Willian didn't really have a choice as Spurs were the only club with an accepted bid.
