Would you guys be bothered if we bough Danny Rose for about £5/6 Million of you got Coentrão? Just want to see what your thoughts on it would be, surely levy would let him go? We are desperate haha
We're running out of homegrown players and our other left-back's on the way out, so no chance for £5/6m, in my opinion. It's Levy, so double the figure you first thought of and add a sell-on clause, too!
I could see it happening, but it will be more like £8m. Naughton and Verts can cover left back behind Coentrao, even though that could well leave us short at the back with other injuries. We could give Carroll a place in the squad to make up the home grown quota.
Been a loooooooooong summer over Bale. But either way, Perez and Madrid are going to learn the true cost of trying to deal with Darth Levy come Sept 2.
Are both of Carroll and Townsend still U21 ?? If not, they'll be straight in the squad as home grown.
Carroll is U21, is a freebie in our squad. As is Kane and Fryers. Townsend turned 22 last month, when is the cut-off for being 21?
You don't have to make up the quota. You can have 17 players from wherever, but the remaining 8 slots have to be taken up by homegrown players, if they're to be used. Carroll doesn't qualify yet because of his age, anyway. He was only just too young.
26 million for soldado 30 million for willian 17 million for paulinho 8 million for chadi equals 81 Million Thats Bale gone!
I know, but if we need 8 home grown then we can use him. Or is it just a max of 17 foreign? Edit - don't worry answer came in above. If we don't need 8 home grown then we don't need to worry about it
What about the £35m of tv money and the £30m we've sold? Does that mean we are gonna spend another £30-50m after Willian? I hope so, Lamela + Alderwiereld please
Just a max of 17 foreign. Could have a PL Squad of 17 foreign players and no one else. Sounds like the Arsenal squad.
That be put towards the new staidum and player wages? just can't see how we can spend 81 million plus wages and turn down 80 million for Bale, if that happens then clearly there has been a major change but I expect the Bale deal to happen to fund these purchases and maybe that was always the case.
89 million. With the fee for Bale possibly reaching 84-93 so still that looks like the Bale sale will cover most of the transfer fees, plus parker hudd, dempsey and caulker sold, so essentially if bale leaves and you add in the other player sales, the player sales have covered all incomings. Of course if Bale stays then that changes the whole outlook, yet I'll be surprised but over the moon.
Hmmmmm. I'm beginning to think I voted too early on this poll. LOL If Lamela comes, as well as Willian. Bale is as good as gone. Can't see us having all three. (Although if we did, we'd be title challengers.) What a window.........
I think most of us think he is going now, simply because we can't believe the transfer window activity is not based on a desire to improve despite his loss. The difference between now and when this poll started is that we will not be shattered if he does leave we have a lot more fish to fry.
Real Madrid want Bale to make his home debut on Sunday 1 September against Athletic Bilbao because the midday kick-off would maximise the global television audience watching his first game in Spain. (Source: Daily Telegraph) Won't that be difficult if Bale is injured? And even if he has been faking his injury (which I doubt, bearing in mind that he didn't even play so much as a cameo role for Wales), he seriously lacks match-fitness, so will be completely off the pace, or will go an pick up a nasty strain. Are these journos really that thick, or do they simply believe that most of us are?
" Of course if Bale stays then that changes the whole outlook, yet I'll be surprised but over the moon." What if Joe has finally caved in and made a cash injection ?? This is still a possibility.
