I rather have a player who loses the ball by trying to create something rather than a player not even bothering to take a risk. And good comparison - Yossi and Riera to some extent in the 08/09 season were very useful players and even won games for us. In addition, his versatility and intelligence compliments Coutinho and Sturridge, and they can all interchange which improves the fluidity to our attack.

I want us to spend if the deal is right, but if someone wants to go somewhere else, i dont think we should try and trump them with money. I dont believe that a squads quality is purely based on the price of the parts. Spurs have brought in all these players, but they may not work together and be completely ineffective. We have our policy of developing young players and we have to be patient and not go out blowing our money just because one of our rivals has. We just need to concentrate on ourselves and try and win every game. Liverpool is looking at developing a club that can compete at the highest level not just a team and that will take time. I would like us to get a quality world class player in, but If it doesnt happen, I still think we will be okay, (and by okay I mean continue improving, finish with higher points tally.)
They've already signed £50m worth of players, can you really see them spending another £50m getting those two...? Don't forget they would have to pay the wages too.

Good question. Who knows? Personally feel that we're in a position that if we want to attract top class players, then we need to spend a little more than normal. Unearthing hidden gems like Coutinho and Sturridge are very rare - £20m for the pair is an incredible deal but can we keep getting lucky with these deals? It's a romantic notion but we're in a day and age where it's hard to compete unless we invest, even Spurs are splashing the cash now and so too are Dortmund.
