I loved the Carry-On films; typical British saucy humour. I'm surprised the EU hasn't tried to ban them like the saucy postcards.

There were some great imaginitive names, such as W.C Boggs and Sons in carry-On at your convenience and Citizen Camenbert [the big cheese in revolutionary France] in Don't lose your head

Carry on Cleo had the best line in British cinematic history, as Julius Caesar (Kenneth Williams) was trying to escape his assassins: "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!"

What a memory that is...delivering his own baby. Mind you, most mothers would rather not be there at the time :)

I have little sympathy with him. He whinged to get a move from a then high-ebb Sunderland to Aston Villa who were lower, not long after arriving at Sunderland. I just don't like the guy to be honest. Surprising how much he is criticising considering he's only on a loan spell. Unless of course there is an option to buy him with no interference from Villa.

That's a classic. Lucky Jim, which has Ian Carmichael alongside Terry-Thomas in it, is on at the same time on BBC2. But I would choose Lavender Hill mob over that any day.

I wasn't a great fan of the Carry-Ons, although there's no doubt they were funny in parts. Carry On Sergeant was excellent throughout and was universally praised, I believe. Others I enjoyed were Carry On Constable, Cowboy, Up the Khyber, Steaming, and I couple more I can't remember. Later ones were awful, IMO.

One particular favourite line comes from Carry On Up The Khyber [Pass], when Kenneth Williams as The Khasi of Kalabar welcomes Sid James as Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond. And here it is too:
