If Manchester City can attract and sign Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Jolean Lescott, Emmanuel Adebayor, Vincent Kompany, and Pablo Zabbelletta in a summer after a season finish in the bottom half of the table, with no real consistency success or fame in the past and Mark Hughes as manager, Liverpool can sign any one. Footballers dont only want money.

True, but I think we can safely say most of City's signings were mercenaries in it for the MASSIVE wages, (is it Toure that's on 250k?), and thought they'd get easy trophies. I'd prefer players who wanted to play for us for what we're about, our manager, our history our spirit etc. I know that's a bit of a dream but we can only hope!

Players are attracted by money. There is no denying that. However, players can also be attracted by ambition. Our club seems to be moving forward with a good set of owners and an excellent management team. If players can see that we have a chance of winning trophies, then they would be attracted. <ok>

I'm sure there are, but are they any good? That's the question. I'm sure we could find an army of loyal Poulsen type players but unfortunately we wouldn't win very much...

Players are attracted by the money, but not just for themselves, they are also attracted by knowing that money is available and other good players will be coming in.

Liverpool will be stronger in this market than Spurs. You have to work hard to keep hold of what youv already got.

    I doubt that very much.

To be fair, though, you don't really have that much, do you?

Suarez looks okay, although I still think he's going to be found-out next season, and Carroll is looking exactly what he is - a cart-horse. You have no where near the talent we have. We can afford to loose a couple of players (for upwards of £80-£90 million to be used to rebuild), whereas you cannot. You've already sold the only player you had who was worth anything, and you struck lucky on that deal. Lightening won't striker twice for you. Trust me.

Oh god, yet another deluded Spurs fan. One flash in the pan in the Champions League and you're suddenly a huge club. Does it hurt that Suarez turned you down in favour of us?

Our marque signing is probably going to be Leandro.

As for Fat Joe, I'll believe it when I see it. Even if Levy does make the mistake of giving into Harry's weird fascination for him, I am greatly comforted by the very recent news that Modric intends to stay put at Spurs (check out the Spurs board for the latest news).

What was that you were saying about holding onto you big stars... ?

TBH Spurs back four have been of relegation battle standard at times. Apart from Dawson your defence is poor. I think you lack defensive protection from midfield to. Your strikers have been very hit and miss. If you were to loose Modric I think you would struggle to replace him, and struggle to play with out him. But once players get a taste of champions league football, they want it all the time.

As for Carroll, knocked him at your perrill, once he has had a whole pre season to rest, settle and prepare he will start firing big. Liverpool and their owners seem to be showing a lot more ambition than Spurs right now.

As for Torres, he was holding Liverpool back. He was no longer valuable to the club because he only played for himself, not his team. He became injury prone, nervy, lazy and grumpy. He was making the team play worse by not applying the effort. At least Suarez and Carroll will give there all to the team every game.

'Arry stated last season that if the England job gets offered to him he'll take it in the blink of an eye, todays result for England brings that ever closer.

    whos next at the lane?,Bruce?,Hodgson?,Ollie?.

Oh wait Pep and Jose want in because Spurs qualified for the CL once.

The summer should see where Spurs end up,There is as much chance of 'Arry ending up at HMS Parkhurst than there is of him getting the England job as he's up in court during the summer months due to unpaid tax bills. As for Liverpool,Kenny is the sort of manager players want to play for..he has something that Redknapp doesn't and thats charisma,he could sell sand to the arabs and ice to the eskimos.Harry comes across as the loveable wheeler-dealer,the used car salesman.Kenny's different, when he talks to players they shut up and listen,if they don't he says ''show me your medals and I'll show you mine'',and then they shut up very quickly.Blackburn weren't in Europe when he sold his ambitions to a host of players.
Liverpool can still attract the best when it comes to players and managers,Spurs can only attract 2nd rate players. Its a miracle Terry Venables isn't in line to replace Redknapp whereever he ends up.

    Is he?

I reckon if Capello gets fired, which he should do, then Harry will jump straight away.

One massive job before he retires.

My opinion on the matter is, that due to Redknapp being no younger than Capello, 'Arry will not be offered the job in favour of a younger model. Though I would have sacked Capello straight after the world cup and offered the job to Redknapp or Hodgson.

Tottenham fans actually think there a big club<laugh><laugh> classic.

Back to the topic, top players either join teams in big clubs in CL i.e. Barca, R.madrid, Inter, or teams with massive dough i.e. Man ****ty. Liverpool are neither atm<ok> and will probably sign a load of average english players.
