I genuinely believe that if I was a professional football with options of three or four clubs, each fulfilling one of the four things you said, I would join Liverpool (genuine fan of team). I'd play for less with the intention of playing out of my skin for the team I love knowing that if I performed I'd get the payrise I deserve regardless. I normally moan at other for throwing the money accusation at players because I tend to agree with what you are saying but each person is different. I work to live, not live to work and therefore my number one goal is to enjoy myself and the things I am doing. There is no doubt in my mind that I'd take £20k, £30k or £40k per week less to play for the club I love and there would be absolutely no reasons to question ambition either, its just the harder route which means if you do win something, you've earn't it!
Will believe it when it's actually confirmed. Lets just hope we're still looking to bring marquee signings in, like previously mentioned though, getting Suarez to stay and back to his form is just as important and a new signing. Btw jimmy, Daily Fail, come on?
I'm starting to think that for any hope of cracking the CL any time soon, we are relying on several of our kids to really hit the big time - Sterling, Ibe, Suso, Wisdom need to become CL quality in the next few years.
look willian prob got a lot of money of anzhi... shaktar? who knows his "owner" prob shoveled him there cos that was good for the joint ownership stuff. anzhi was his big move and they prob bought him out so now he's just surplus, full of money and god knows what he thinks. if we don't get him fine... its like anyone with a foreign name for 25mil and lfc fans go crazy. i still have not even looked at him on youtube or anything so lets see what happens.
You'd certainly get a good kicking Agree with you, I'm in the same boat, I'd give anything to play for LFC, but thats easy for any fan to say. However, in this modern era, fandom appears to be pretty low on any footballers list of priorities! Again, nothing wrong with that.
If Spurs get Willian, I see them well within a shot of third place. Currently I see it as: Chelsea City United Spurs Arsenal Liverpool Spurs have a good side, they made the right decision bringing in AVB and now Franco Baldini, they know real quality and this is AVB's first real 'project' where he's building a side into a team competing for honors, step by step, which is what we're meant to be doing, but progress is slow at the moment..
A player who would walk into any first team in the league will probably base his decision on the money/location/trophies factors that you listed. However, anyone who thinks he might splinter his arse on a top club's bench would perhaps consider playing for a slightly lower team in order to get game time and, who knows, perhaps be the deciding factor in making that team competitive again.
I agree. It's only going to make it even more difficult closing the gap between ourselves and the top 4. In addition, a player picking Spurs over us is another kick in the teeth and a bit of reality check. Can't say I blame him but it hurts nonetheless.
Willian going to spurs will resign us to 6th best. Guaranteed. Well be weaker without him and he will be a great addition to their team. Got to question our negotiators though if they can't sell our great club to willian, not like spurs have CL

Spurs have European football, closer to CL qualification than we are, seriously strong squad, Portuguese manager who already has an existing relationship with Willian ... Also, London is attractive place as well.
