The Hull game will be an interesting one, but I'm feeling pretty positive. Sure they're going to have a huge support and be right up for it, but I think if you were to pick a combined XI from us and them, you'd put 10 Norwich players in at least (Huddlestone perhaps the 11th). I think that's the first time I've felt that for a Premier League game! We should have the quality, so treat them with respect, prepare for the game properly, and a point should be the minimum we're hoping for.
I agree DH. On paper you would have to say we've got the much better squad than Hull and I know they played Chelsea, but they never really looked like scoring. One thing they will have is that momentum and being up for it as newly promoted sides do. I don't think we'll lose this one.
Thats easy to lose if the results don't go well for you early on, they have us and then maN city the week after hopefully they could see out the month with no points.
I hope they been Citeh personally, surely we want our title rivals to drop as many points as possible
Hull need to win on Saturday to avoid getting cut adrift early.Unusually there was only one draw in the first round of games (us).With nine teams failing to get off the mark so far it's likely four or five of them will still bo on zero after round 2.
It's a weird thing to say but a draw was good for us and Everton. A win is obviously preferable but we both got off the mark and both showed in stages what we are setting up to do this season. I think it's a game we would have lost last year. No bassong and no snodgrass usually spells disaster for us but we have proper depth now and competition for spaces will be intense. I think we will grow into our first eleven its definitely not set in stone and I think that's a good thing. We have options like we've never had before. Just got to go out there and prove it on the pitch! Can't wait!
Personally the battle I'm most looking forward to is the LM position. You'd think Pilks, when fit, will be first choice but Redmond looks so lively and willing to create that Pilks will have to be on top form to keep his place. We've also got Ollsson to provide more competition along that side, though i think he'll get the LB spot over Garrido as the season progresses.
I think against Hull, Fer will be the man to close down Huddlestone whenever possible. Huddlestone in my opinion is a midfielder who can win games for Hull, he's so comfortable on the ball and the sort of midfielder who is very useful when trying to keep a lead. Will be interesting to see how Fer deals with him and whether Huddlestone gets a second on the ball to spray it. I can see Johnson possibly starting as well if I'm honest just to add that bite in midfield away from home. I think this game will indicate much more than the Everton game how far are squad has come and improved since last season and also the level of fluidity we will look to play with this season.
