LEAGUE POSITIONS 2013/14


After a high scoring round the highest score of the day was 82 by Chris 13. Second highest was Sandy Hornet with 76. Only 2 of us got the Watford score correct and there was only 1 unique score with Sandy being the only one to Get the Blackpool score correct. Our first League table of the year looks like this:

Let's see if I can keep up with the usual suspects once we get into the season a bit more............
 
What a poor start. But then again there were a few surprises and teams will start to feel each other out and things should settle down. I will improve I hope

9th not bad for slightly informed pure guesses, only way is down now.
 
The scoring is: 10 points (1 per match for tipping). 2 points for a home win (e.g. you tip 2-0 and it was 2-1). 3 points for an away win e.g. you tip 1-2 and it was 0-2). 4 points for a correctly predicted draw with the wrong result e.g. 1-1 against 2-2.
An extra 5 points for the right score difference e.g. 2-0 against 3-1.
15 points for a totally correct result.
All Watford scores doubled, e.g.30 for a totally correct score. (A maximum 50 if you were the only one to tip it)
An extra 10 points if you were the only one to predict a scoreline correctly. Hope that answers your question. I do them all manually as I don't use a spreadsheet or anything.

I will be in Watford from this thursday until the following monday and am not sure if I will have internet access over that time. It seems likely that the new league table will come out on either the monday or, at the latest, the tuesday as a result. Likewise don't wait for me to open the following weeks tipping, the fixtures are:

Saturday 17th August (All 15.00)

Barnsley v Charlton
Birmingham v Brighton
Bournemouth v Wigan
Burnley v Yeovil
Derby v Leicester
Middlesbrough v Blackpool
Millwall v Huddersfield
Nottm forest v Bolton
Q.P.R. v Ipswich
Reading v Watford

Only a one off situation just for this one weekend.
 
WPL League Positions. (After round 2)


Very tight at the top after the second round of matches with Hornet Fez edging it from Chris 13. Highest scorer of the day was Theo, jumping from 15th to 4th. Not surprisingly none of us got the Watford score correct. Once again many apologies for the table coming out late - but what a great weekend to choose for my trip over !

WPL League Positions (After round 3).

Middle to low scoring week - apart from in Watford's matches goals are a scarcity everywhere else. Highest scores of the day were by Zen and Golden Gordon, whose 59 powers him into 3rd place. Hornet Fez retains the lead ahead of NZ Horn. Still early days yet though.

He may not have read the rules, as I posted them on the main thread - which is not linked to the others (Because I haven't found out how to link the various WPL threads. Scullion is new to this and may not have known about the ruling - I will however post a reminder on the postings board. A deduction in this case would simply disregard the fifth score (In this case 1-0 Nottm Forest v Bolton) thus a deduction of 2 points would be the normal practice - but, with a newcomer, who probably didn't know the rules (Partly my fault) I think a simple reminder is o.k.
