Sitting here watching Palace playing Spurs in front of a full house and feeling jealous. Oh well who needs the Premiership? Typical will be pleased that we are towards the bottom of the table.

Oh Dicky, are you trying to get a rise out of me?

I would rather french kiss a naked Susan Boyle after she had eaten a tuna baguette than watch Palace and as far as spurs are concerned that would also include spooning.

I loved the interview you gave at the Emirates yesterday.

You'll never guess what I've got for lunch - somehow it seems less appetising now than when I bought it... <laugh>

If we were reduced to playing on Woolwich Common, using four of us as goalposts, I wouldn't feel jealous of Palace.

The comment was such an obvious wind-up I didn't reply, but as you've broken the ice, typical.

The Community Relations Team at Palace deserve all the plaudits for their work over the summer, for they have managed to dig ten thousand new fans out of the woodwork since May.

The local council are now conducting a massive operation to clear heaps of sawdust and bradawls from the streets of Croydon.

    Good use of "Bradawl" Ponders.
Dick, remind me where in the table Palace were this time last year and what the bookies thought they had in store. Also remind me what division we were in two seasons ago and for the two seasons before that.

Can you really see us promoted with the squad we have? No good looking back it is where we are now that is important. I am jealous of where Palace are and I wish we were in their position. Even if they get relegated they will still be in a stronger position than we are. They have not spent hugely and will have the large parachute payment. I hate Palace with a vengeance and it is painful to see them amongst the big boys.

My comments were not a wind up, as I was watching the match I just wished that it was us instead of them. I must admit I am getting a wee bit pissed off with people thinking that I am on a constant wind up, I am not. I just post what I feel.

I don't expect us to be promoted but nor would I bother to describe us as near the bottom of the table at a stage when the table means very little. I remember being top of the Premiership back in 1998, where did we finish that year? This is something my Football Manager playing 10 year old has got his head around.

Of course we'd all rather be where Palace are but you do have to look back to measure progress and since I'm not looking at this seasons table yet I'd say last season's ninth place finish in the Championship was progress after 3 years in League 1.
