Pardew has to go. There is a complete lack of interest and discipline from a lot of the players in black and white tonight.

Lets get new faces in before it's too ****ing late! Please!!

We can't afford to wait until ****ing January to make changes!!

Lets have a new manager in now. One with an ounce of ****ing respect and one that will get the players on his side.

If this is how our team reacts to getting beat off a Title pushing side in the first game of the season, then it's obvious that most of them just completely undisciplined and uninterested.

Saylor sent off. Mbiwa could have had two yellows. Sissoko has a yellow. Debuchy being a **** again and losing his temper, a yellow. And I somehow doubt this new world record of Tiote's for not getting booked within the first 20 seconds of a new season is going to last very long.

There is no shame in losing away to Man City, even being totally outplayed and comfortably beaten.

You would never 'accept' a loss before a game but 3-0 or 4-0 isn't exactly a result which we will be cursing at the end of the season.

However, we are already 3-0 down and you can see this being 5,6,7,etc. and we deserve it because we have totally lacked discipline and our defence has been a shambles not just in the errors they've made but in the way they have conducted themselves generally.

I'm annoyed with Arsenal as the Cabaye factor clearly has some bearing though it doesn't give any excuse for the gutless nature of our team.

I don't think calling for Pardew within the first half of the first game is a good thing though. Yes most of us wanted him out earlier in the year but if he was to go I would have wanted it at the start of the summer, for it to happen once the season has started would be a shambles. Give him to Christmas, or at least 10 games into the season. Even a thumping tonight would be tempered by the fact it is a game which logic dictated we were unlikely to get anything from.

I disagree, I blame pardew and not for one game but for the entire last season.

We are going down simple as that

Me and my Dad have decided, this year not to renew our season tickets. after 25 years. Because we thought that this was going to be an awful year!! It seems we were correct!! What a F**KIN shambles inside 45 minutes into the the season!! I hate to say it, but I was correct!!! I knew we wud be a bloody useless team this year. I think we will start watching Spennymoor FC now. At least they have won a bloody trophy in the last 10 years.....

YOU F**KIN COCKNEY C**T.. F**K OFF and DIE!!!!

Honestly its one of the most disappointing starts i can imagine. Man sent off, Cabaye gone, **** playing all after a summer of being outspent by west ham, southampton, swansea, sunderland....

What's with Wenger? Really disrespectful to bid for a player on the eve of a match. This could have waited until tomorrow.

    Only the first game lads.

Most teams would have got tonked by City here. Would be wise to wait until you've played games that are winnable before Pardew can go.

He may have learnt his lesson from last year!

Really not surprised we've been comfortably beaten. 4-0 is a bit worse than expected but I suspect the odds before the game were on 2-0 or 3-0 against us. The inevitability hurts and the performance is disgusting but our campaign will be shaped by how we bounce back from this in the winnable game against West Ham at the weekend, not in the result of this game itself.

ps. perturbed by how reasonable Vaughan is being. Am I missing sarcasm?

You gotta laugh at the mass over reaction to one game against one of the title front runners, away from home. Get a grip man.

I think Pardew should go but not because of tonight, Taylor let him down badly. For me he should go because at least six of the players aren't playing for him. Serious lack of effort from Debuchy and Cisse in particular.

Once you lose the dressing room there is no coming back and that along with a lack of new faces means that he has a near impossible job.

But to blame tonight on him is harsh to say the least.

This was the score last year
we haven't spent anything and city have spent £90million, so who is worse off

me thinks spending a further £90million and not improving by beating us by more than 4, and we only 10 men second half <laugh>

If we had got battered but kept 11 men on the pitch and kept out heads, I could have accepted it, but there was just total lack of composure and discipline. Our back line doesn't look together and as a team we don't look any different to last season.

Cisse getting isolated and hoping Ben Arfa will do something special.

thought he could of brought shola on before sammy, shove him up front on his own and push Cisse out wide
Shola can at times at least hold the ball up
