When entire squad is fit, healthy and in form I agree, he wouldn't get in ahead of most. But we're 90 mins into the season and already have an injury crisis which highlights the importance of having 16/17 top class players with good players in the wings. We seem to have 9/10 top class players and on our day we can beat most teams, but take one or two away from that team and we begin to look light, just like we do now...
I remember last January when we were interested in Cabaye and then people were excited about it.....we sold plenty of players and need a squad. He would be a squad player - and a good one.

It's market driven and in 2013 good squad players come at a price. And if you're a desperate Arsene Wenger under the pump like never before fresh off a toxic home crowd turning on you, that price only goes up....

If we get Cabaye, that's 1 down, and 4 more to go. We need a winger, a striker, a defender, and a goalkeeper. I think we should even go for 2 defenders, who knows what TV's status is, so we're still short in that department. Even if we have a new CB today, we'd still only have 2 CB's available for Saturday, so at this point, we need 2 defenders.
If somebody had said that we'd be going for Cabaye and Williams at the start of the transfer window, I'd be ****ing furious, but this is what it's come to. And looking at it rationally, they would be decent additions to our squad.

Been reading the NUFC board, apparently Cabaye suffers badly from depression. Do we really want a depressed guy around?
There were rumours about this earlier in the window and I said it would be a good move, just think the media are making up random **** because they know the fans are desperate, problem is people keep banging on about all the targets we lost when the truth is most of them we never bid for in the first place.
