Don't know why we're even making a bid for Baines. He's better than Evra, but not by much, and surely Everton would only sell one of Baines and Fellaini?

Baines will only be worst after a year or 2 .. Evra and Ashely cole are not the same once passed 30s and he won't be even able to cope physically with pressure of playing twice a week
Surely bringing in Baines would strengthen the left back area as there will be genuine competition for Evra for the starting slot, something which United haven't had for years in that position
Obviously it would strengthen us, but it's a position we have plenty if depth and cover in. Evra was fantastic last season, and was great on Saturday, there isn't really a need to push him with competition. Evra is a leader on and off the pitch for United, so even if Baines is better than him, he'd still be more valuable to the team. Than Baines would.
