They ran an article the other day calling us Hull City Tigers and someone at the club emailed them asking them not to. The BBC used it on Saturday too.

You should recall me not being bothered or upset by being called Hull City Tigers. You should also recall me being of the view the teams name would still be Hull City, with no imminent changes to the badge expected.

In fact, you'd be correct if you recalled me being of the view that Nicks previous statements were pretty clear to me.

I do get why people may be confused, and I sympathise with them, however, I wasn't confused, other than by the outrage and **** being directed at Nick and Dr Allam. That remains the case.

So what did they mean when they said a new badge will be drawn up for the 2014-2015 season? That seems like pretty conclusive fact that it was changing, yet this week it isn't...

    Yaaawn.

People probably recall you continually bleating about how not bothered you were.

Thanks to other people 'being bothered', this fiasco has been stopped in its tracks and those pushing the changes have smelt the coffee.

They announced that pretty clearly, and have said it will be in consultation. Nothing underhand or evil about that at all. All clear and above board. No sneaky team name changing at all. I don't see a problem with that. Change doesn't scare me.

Yeah they've not changed something that wasn't going to be changed anyhow. Good work.

Happy - what are you saying? You originally claimed that you couldn't care less if the name changed; that all opponents of change were merely afraid of change.

Now - after NT appears to be saying there are no plans to change from Hull City AFC (which is a new development in this sorry saga) - you try to claim that you knew it all along....

FFS - you even changed your name from Happy Clapper to Happy Tiger.

He's even done it within this thread. Stated factually that there are no plans to change the name, then when I pointed out the club had publicly stated that's exactly what they would do he started going on about now being afraid of change...

Doesn't say anything about bringing AFC back though.
I thought that was what all the furore was about?

I have no concerns about the change of the company name, or the trading name, for us as fans the only change would be in the way we address payments for tickets. No one bats an eyelid on going to Tiger Liesure to buy their stock.
But plans are and have been put in place to change the team name. Hull City AFC only officially exists in the FA's registrated club list.
It is the change of the registered FA name that is in my opinion not in the best interest of the club. It effectively destroys the history of the club, will lead to confusion and really does not increase the marketability of the club.
Hull Tigers will never replace Hull City, but I unfortunately think that Hull City will replace Hull City AFC.

Well spotted, tt - shows what a sneaky, slippery character NT is; and, incidentally, blows Happy Tiger's claim out of the water.

I said it wasn't changing this season. It isn't. The issue was around something being done through the back door. It isn't.

I know after you've been proven to be full of ****, and unjustified paranoia, you must be feeling a little stupid, but seriously, grow up.

I can't be bothered to read 21 pages of same old ****e(I read the first two and imagine they repeated themselves ten times over), but it was quite obvious to many of us that there was an intended change in the name of the club.

There's only one person who thinks this is a good idea and that's Assem, even Ehab and NT think it's a daft thing to do and absolutely no-one actually believes it will bring a financial benefit to the club.

    It's a ridiculous situation.

I don't care what anyone says, I am not going to be forced into using AFC.
I have supported the club for 50 years and have called it Hull City, or The Tigers.

The lunatic fringe will not force me to call it Hull City AFC.

No one is demanding you personally call it Hull City AFC or Hull City AFC Ltd.

It's Hull City in everyday parlance, with the official full name Hull City AFC.

"And now it's over to Stamford Bridge where Jose Mourinho's Chelsea welcome Hull City AFC" <laugh>

    You barmpot.
