Yeah, written by Graham Greene, who has been the inspiration for many classic films...The Third Man, Brighton Rock, The Power and the Glory to name a few...I particularly love the original of Brighton Rock with Richard Attenborough playing the lead role as Pinky...really menacing.

Hi everyone I have just joined. Been a long time observer But have decides to take the plunge. I get so bored at work so this will help pass the time.

I wanted to ask if anyone has read the book World War Z? I have just finished it and was hoping to read a similar book. Anyone have recommendations? Cheers in advance.

Books..? Me, I like to read Patrick O'Brien novels. They're not similar.

A Song of Ice and Fire. Great series if you haven't already read it.

Hello and welcome.

You won't like what I read so I shall not make any recommendations.

You'll understand when I tell you that I am currently reading "Wolf Hall" by Hilary Mantel and have just finished reading "No Name" by Wilkie Collins.

However having seen all the references to old B&W films I can recommend to anyone who loves the cinema that they read "Charlie Chaplin -My Autobiography.". You can even download it for free.

It is an absolutely fabulous read and a real eye opener and helps explain why he left the USA during the McCarthy era. Our political views are born out of our early experiences and I think this book illustrates that.
