Doesn't the transfer window shut at midnight? 11pm sounds a bit random? I don't think it's the end of our business, but I think it'll hinge on where we are after 3 games. We still haven't loaned out any youth players either, I wonder if Townsend,Wilson et al will be heading out or whether they'll wait until the loan window opens. We could do with another wide player, preferably right sided.
I like this but it could also easily be 451 if elmo and brady don't push up. and 451 did NOT work yesterday.
According to SB on Sky it was supposed to be 4-3-3 but with the personnel we had in those positions and the way Chelsea started, I think it inadvertantly became 4-5-1.
The thread seems to have gottrn off-topic a tad... any city transfer rumours around? do we need to bring in a wide forward and/or a better striker? maybe even a midfielder so we have a whole new midfield 3... I actually think Bruce will stay loyal to the players that helped get us promoted and keep the likes of meyler and koren in the team... even though we now have better options.. Bruce is a very nice guy and i think he'll find it hard to leave these players out.. we can already see this by giving his son the number 4 shirt and having him on the bench on saturday when we should have had a striker. edit: http://talksport.com/football/fulham-and-hull-miss-out-ghana-international-13081956298 I wonder if we still wanted this guy? Or were Tom & Jake our top targets and once we landed both of them we were no longer interested in the likes of Rabiu
Brucey said he's done looking for strikers, but that could be a smokescreen. I think we're looking at that Rincon, even though not much has come out for a while.
Hull city still need a creative playmaker/right wing + a skillfull striker Sagbo and Aluko and Graham aren't enough imo
I wouldn't mind Rincon, but if there's going to be another CM, I think it'll be Hendrick (or Hughes if that's who he was watching).
I think Bruce will aim to buy 1 more midfielder, possibly loan a foreign winger as well, and we'll only bring another striker in if McLean & Fryatt (possibly Proschwitz too) leave.
I'd say we need another striker more than a midfielder. We have 5 good midfielders plus Koren who will be good for the first half of the season before his annual coma.
I get the feeling we'll hold on to Prossy. SB will have to admit to an expensive mistake if he goes and I think he'll get subbed on from the bench at times, to see how he makes out in the Prem.
I agree - I'd say a striker and someone who can play the Brady/Aluko 'either side of a front man' role. Previous comment just what I think Bruce will do.
^^ This. People assume it's easy to just ship players out and that the money we paid isn't really a lot. It might not have been as much as was touted in the press, but it was still a considerable fee and I think Bruce would sooner see him stay, especially if we have injuries/squad rotation. On top of all that, he isn't actually a bad footballer. Would you have had him in the team over Aluko, Boyd and Simpson on last season's form? Not a chance.
If Prozzy actually played last year, as in got a run of games after Quinn and Elmo came in, I could have seen him getting into double figures last year.
He got us promoted though, surely the job he did last season, including signing Proschwitz, is beyond criticism now?
We've got no chance with Hughes. By all accounts he is being watched by top clubs across Europe, not just domestically.
