A woeful display by Hampshire, still at least Sid the Shark gained some honour for the South Coast....

OK line drawn so now we have to win the other one. Beat Lancs tomorrow and a home semi before a final send off for Dimi at Lords!

With no Carberry, Vince, Briggs or Tanvir, I think we can write the Lancs game off. Thankfully however, we'll still have the Derbyshire game to try and secure that SF place.

I'm expecting our team vs Lancs to be something like:

    Adams
    Roberts
    McKenzie
    Ervine
    Dawson
    Wheater
    Mascarenhas
    Wood
    Bates (wkt)
    Riazuddin
    Griffiths

The likes of Rouse, Terry and/or Shepherd to make up the 13 man squad.

Finals day was great fun. 2nd ball after we had got into our seats, Rutherford hit an upper cut for 6 that went a few feet to the left of us! Talk about a rude introduction! We were sat right in front of these drummers as well (if anyone was watching it on sky you will know what I'm talking about). Oh, and someone from the BBC and the Met Office needs to be sacked because we were expecting a washout and only lost 4 overs!

Were they still paying a grand for balls caught in the crowd?

No but someone made a great catch in the same row as me! Levi hit one miles and this time the ball went to the right of us! Levi also hit one right over our heads!

Think that was only at the Oval. Most other grounds gave free Finals Day ticket away for catching the ball. I'm guessing that wasn't happening on Saturday...

Shame the final was delayed and was almost an anti climax after Northants hit so many runs. Still a massive achievement for us to get to Finals Day 4 years running.

Off the top of my head, he's only played one four day game and one one day game for us. And the one day game, he wasn't required to bat. So I can't really comment.

Been doing well in the second XI I understand, but that counts for little. Many players can score second XI runs. Even Bates and Riazuddin can score second XI centuries. Shafayat scored a big double hundred for the seconds last year.

Hadfn't realsied it's on Sky. Good opportunity to see some of the fringe players perform.

Apologies if posted before, but Michael Carberry is in the England Twenty/20 side to face Australia.
