I understand having an extra man up, but they should still have one on or near the halfway line. It looked like they'd forgotten you can't catch a player offside in his own half.

Arsenal rumoured tio have bid £13 mill for Cabaye.

Perhaps, but £13m for Cabaye would be a good bit of business on their end, panicky or not.

 

So they should TSS. 13 players have left with only one free transfer in. 3 injuries on Sat inc Oxo out for 3 months. Think Arsene's head is on the block with the axe being sharpened

Hence the theory that Jenkinson was designated as the "second man back" if you like, and didn't realise that the other one wasn't in position. That seems more likely to me than them all forgetting the offside rule anyway!

All the "outs" were fringe players though, they still have essentially the same size first-team squad they did last season. Not that I'm saying they don't need to strengthen of course. I just think, as last season, reports of Arsenal's and Wenger's deaths have been exaggerated.

 

Not sure if Cabaye is the right move, personally. Arteta and Cazorla are perfectly fine.

 

I'm sure of it. I predict three or four signings between now and September, and I certainly don't think they'll be up to the standards of the likes of Suarez and Higuain.

 

Aaron Ramsey isn't, though. I'd think they can easily shuffle the midfield three to fit Arteta, Cazorla and Cabaye in.

 

They need an enforcer IMHO. Someone like that chap up at Celtic who dominated the Barcelona midfield.........oh..........

 

Their perennial lack of good defensive midfielders will still be their problem if that's what they do. Sooo lightweight.

 

Haha good one. Joking aside I'm surprissed they didn't go for him. Victor and Jack would have been an awesome combination almost as good as Victor and Morgan!

 

I felt sure they'd get him at the start of this window, and I'm still sure they would have got him if they'd wanted him. Why they didn't is beyond me.

 

I really rate Cabaye, but if I was managing Arsenal, I think I'd be more in need of Tiote than Cabaye.

 

Yeah, Gustavo would have been just the ticket. They're really suffering for missing out on him and Higuain I think, with those two, they'd be looking all right now.

Scott Sinclair was being linked to West Brom, I noticed. Bet his agent is asking around, so definitely would not rule that out (if MP wanted to add another in that area).
