That type of response from AVB just reinforces my view Bale wants to go and is patiently waiting for a deal to happen while keeping as quiet as he can. Although I am bored of this whole saga and the manager has to know if Bale is part of his plans. Also it's no coincidence rooney and Bale are both practically acting the same and both us and utd are saying the same response to each potential buyer.
Its a shame his second quote has been largely ignored... "“We are aware that Real Madrid are interested in the player. It doesn’t mean that we are willing to negotiate on him. Our idea is to count on Gareth."
Not ignoring it at all, yet we all know Madrid are interested, The club have said they don't want to sell and Avb wants to count on him. Unfortunately that doesn't always count for much and at times very little if the player wants out so my view has always been if bale wants out the move will happen along as Madrid can actually pay the fee, yet that's also not concrete. But it's obvious both Bale and Rooney want out but these two players also have a degree of respect for the club/fans although we will see just how much if no deals take place.
I think it's obvious that Bale's agent wants him out but I don't think it's obvious that the player wants out. We know about the lock down in making public statements at WHL and this can be interepted in a number of ways. 1. A deal is done but both parties have agreed to silence to allow Spurs to build. 2. Madrid have backed out and have political reasons for wanting a silence while they decide who to target. 3. They are still negotiating with Levy holding out for the biggest fee with silence as part of his demands until negotiations are complete. 4. We are building around Bale and the new signings are part of his negotiation in staying for another season. 5. We are building to lessen the impact of an already sold Bale. 6. Everybody is still undecided. Take your pick, they are all plausible but none are obvious. NB: Yes 1 & 5 are the same.
Obvious to me Spurf, am not trying to place my opinion as fact on Bale, I just believe he wants out and have no issue with anyone thinking different as like you say there are many plausible outcomes, and it's a shame it drags on.
It's a shame that the big fish eats the smaller fish but that's life. But:
Them that knows don't say. Them that say don't know. Bale's stance is entirely consistent with wanting the best possible deal for himself, whether from Real or Tottenham. A variation on 6. (not a likely one, I'll grant you, but one I find interesting) is that the three games Bale won't play amount to a test run for a Bale-less Spurs. 7 or 9 points and it's a lot harder to turn down an offer for him, four or less, it's a lot easier
I still think its a levy media hype and bale is in on it Bale loved spurs in may, you can't change your mind that quickly
I'm of the opinion now that Bale is a gonner. It may be time for me to vote. It's just dragging out far too long. Nothing reassures me that he's staying. AVB's comments don't wash with me and I feel he's the "face" of the clubs stance, in order to get more money out of RM. I feel naive thinking he's going to stay.
I have to admit I'm wavering now, having written out the options above and looking at them I am not confident on any of them being favourite. The silence appears to be an agreed deal between Madrid and Spurs. The nagging doubt is what do Madrid get out the silence? They are no doubt under pressure to make a marquee signing so it could be important to them to keep things quiet while they sort something out. BUT! if it's not Bale who would it be? You would think they might have been linked with somebody, have they? We have this 'special relationship' with them and it's this and the silence that is looking increasingly ominous. Add to that the huge activity from Spurs in the transfer market? Is it just the silence that we have agreed with Madrid? Hm!
They get Bale. "Shut-up or we won't even answer your calls". The transfer spending is irrelevant as we have the money regardless of Bale cash. If anything, we haven't strengthened Bale's (new) position (yet) so the transfer activity would indicate he is staying, to me. Having said that, i also think he's going now
As far as I can see the bale situation with fans condemning his and spurs silence on it is different to the rooney and sewerat one, man u and liverpool have both recieved official bids for their players so have to come out with a reply either, yes, no, maybe, spurs on the otherhand as far as I am aware have not recieved an official bid from rm or anyother club for gareth bale so have no one to reply to, there is no need for them to comment on any stories in the media that are built on speculation not facts, ok us fans would like some clarity on the matter but for the club there is nothing more for them to do apart from stating that he isnt for sale which they have done. as for bale being injured my opinion for what its worth is that he is injured and is being brought upto fitness slowly rather than pushing him too hard to be ready for the start of the season, and I dont think he is going anywhere
That AND the rumour that Coentrau put in a transfer request last week, can not both be true can they ? Presumably he wouldn't put in a transfer request if he had already been sold.
You're probably right, but it could be smoke and mirrors, if RM and Spurs are working together, could be that news is being presented in a way that helps both sides. The transfer request could be just a way of preparing the ground. If we think the tweet is true, the fact that nothing has been confirmed must mean they are playing games in terms of allowing us to get our other targets. Apparently AVB is going to be talking about Bale on SSN soon.
