I was going add to the transfer rumours thread...however, this isn't about rumours, it more about the lack of new signings! Do you think it's not just Lawwell that waiting to see if we get Champions League group stages ... I'm starting to think some players are not willing to commit to Celtic until it this is known.
We've been knocked back on 3 strikers, if anything I think we look a bit desperate to get players in - rather than not being bothered.
Big Pete Knew we were losing players months ago. We should have had replacements lined up and early bids put in then.
Yeah, I was going to comment that, if the reports are true, rather than the usual - quitely going about business - we are getting rather desperate to sign a Striker! 3 signings needed...
Complete ****ing shambles either way. It'll no be the Champions League that will be the stumbling block. It will be ****e wages.
To be fair we will probably have more money to spend to get better quality if we have qualified and more quality players likely to say yes then too. So you are correct to a degree. But it may not be a bad thing. Of course id rather they push the boat out and gamble early, but if waiting means more quality then sobeit. My one concern would be are the reported no's from players down to that or down to what ee are offering them? Its easy to get linked with a player yet offer the club or player too little. Makes it look like they are trying to get players in, when maybe they arent really
If we want a decent striker we will need to offer more than 20k a week. As far as i know Broon is our top earner on about £20k basic, surely to **** we can afford at least one player earning £30k in our squad?
My thoughts exactly Dev. Fair enough when they bought Stokes/Hooper/Murphy it was a rebuilding process and Lennon was a new manager. They didn't want another Mowbray fiasco. But Lennon has proven himself and should be backed with money to get a quality striker with a decent goalscoring record in.
If we get KO'd by Para Handy then we're losing out on a potential £20m jackpot. Since the first leg against Cliftonville, Lennon has been telling the press he hopes to have a player (most likely a striker) signed before the CL transfer deadline(s). So far, nada. We've negotiated two banana skins so far. It would be criminal to miss out on another CL campaign (and all that money) just because we stalled on signing a striker.
Not just criminal but naive, short-sighted and entirely stupid. Getting to the point where my support of the clubs prudence (and continual marketing/PR bullshite) is wearing thin. It's like listening to New Labour ****ers 10 years ago.
Why are we all moaning , look at Arsenal 70 million to spend got a harder tie than us and only got a freebie french teenager in so far . The transfer market is always hard to play two weeks from the end the players think they might have better options , 2 days from end they might know we are there only option .
**** up Harry. Arsenal have no relevance in this discussion. The fact is that the club/manager have been feeding us mush for weeks now in the hopes that the bland tastelessness of it will appease and keep us quiet. They need to get a ****ing move on not hit the fans with useless platitudes.
Wegner is also getting it in the neck from his fans for not splashing the cash and they are operating in a very different market than Celtic – money to burn! Maybe because we've been hearing the same old balls since the Clintonville game whilst watching arguably the 3 best players in the core/key positions being sold without (even) adequate replacements. The Celtic team is barely making progress just now... can’t comment on the 3 signings until the start playing competitively. Celtic FC is going backwards. You should be more raging than someone like me as you readily spend a lot of cash on following Celtic - where's the investment?

3 years into MON's time - Nae more money Martin, sorry. Have Camara/Bellamy on loan. 3 years into Strachan's time - Nae more money Gordon, sorry. Buy Willo Flood for peanuts instead 3 years into Lennon's time - We're working on it. More patterns forming than on a ****ing kaleidoscope.
I've said it before...Celtic never seems to move on from a position of strength. It lucky the Huns killed themselves as there where loads of times when Celtic had the chance to bury them forever and they never did! At this rate, when Rangers get to the top league, they'll be instant challengers instead of Celtic horsing them at every turn!
