“I don’t want to sell him. But if he is sold, we have to bring in a central midfield player and another striker. “If someone wants to sell Sessegnon, I won’t criticise if they bring me a striker with quality and experience and a central midfield player " I don't quite get this. Surely a manager either wants a player or he doesn't ! I can't see how he's going to get performances out of him if he's telling the press "If someone wants to sell Sessegnon, I won’t criticise ". Very naïve man management imo.
i'm not sure mate, do you not think he's covering his back, i.e if sess is sold i want the dosh to spend otherwise dont sell him! its as if he's letting the fans know its got nowt to do with him
Giving Sessegnon motivation to play to stay? If Sessegnon is telling the truth and he does want to stay then this should motivate him to show Di Canio and the club what he can do
I say it again but just because he had a bad game doesn't mean we need to sell him regardless how much money he is on. Bench him and play someone else, we NEED strong squad for the season and Sess will play his part, I dont mind getting rid of players with no impact but not an attacking option. Please can we stop talking about wages as well, does my head in, no one has a clue what people are earning but to suggest he is earning £68K/WEEK is mental, I worry about the people who made that up.
Danny you really need to take off your Sess tinted specs. Tell us honestly how many ok/good games he had last season?
What a silly thing to say. plus you going on about sess having a bad game but he had loads last season to. time to sell in my opinion.
yes but you guys are saying sell him (after 1 game), just bench him and give someone else a chance, you cant just sell someone who has scored 20% of our goals in the last 2 seasons. Last season is in the past and means nothing for this season, our squad if wafer thin and selling more players would severely work against us this season not to mention that would mean 3 of our 4 best players last season would have left us this summer. I cant believe I have to stick up for one our own players with some of my own fans.
You say sess scored 20% of our goals but we are one of the worse teams for scoring goals tho LOL he is one of the reasons we don't score enough.
Considering how **** we've been up front in the last two seasons and considering that he has been played as a second forward then 20% is crap. The blunt fact is that he played 3 games more then Gardner last season and scored 1 goal less and so by that logic we should bin him and play Gardner up front with Jerzy. If you say that last season is the past then fair enough. He may be better this season with the likes of Cabral and Giacchi around him. But I think that for 62k a week then he is far too inconsistent. Take the money for him and buy a couple of cheaper and more consistent replacements.
First of all: who says Sess is on 63k a week? I call bullshit Secondly Gardner scored more than 3 penalties iirc All I can remember him scoring in open play was a goal vs Norwich when we lost All of you will be fans of Sessengon when he plays a fantastic game again... until he has a bad one and you'll all be saying we should get rid of him blah blah blah Sess' job in the team isn't to score goals, admittedly he should score more buy he brings so much more to the table
Actually he scored 4 penalties, had 6 goals for the whole season, I like gardner at rb but just as a squad player/backup.. Agree sess didn't score enough last season but we were absolutely putrid.. like i've said on another thread we're just a few pieces away from being able to have a good crack.. I agree with what DS said earlier, maybe if sess has another couple of average games then bench him but right now we need the bloke.. 37 games to go
