OK so we are now spoilt for choice in all positions save maybe left back. So who should we start with on Saturday? Have to say I'm struggling to name our best 11! What do we all think?

I reckon we will see osvaldo come off the bench so I'd go with :

    Boruc
    Clyne - Lovren - fonte - shaw
    Schneiderlin - wanyama
    Jay - gaston - lallana
    Lambert

    Subs : k.d, chambers , yoshida , cork , jwp, Davis , osvaldo .

Interesting Jose in front of Maya. Had a sound game against WBA but I feel Maya is a better player.

JWP took almost all set pieces in Saturday's game. How much value does his set piece ability hold?

If he's fit (to our standard), I think Daniel will start...Gaston dropped to bench (?). I guess it depends on what Mauricio sees in training. He's not above springing surprises....the fact we are surprised by the team seems to surprise MP...as he said, they are all Southampton players. Chambers may play again if Clyne still not 100%. Jos for Fonte perhaps (depends if Maya is fit)....Lovren says he can play both sides. Lovren, Shaw, Morgan, Wanyama, and Lallana are certain I would have thought. Not easy to second guess Mauricio.

That's a hell of a bench especially when you consider that Guly and Punch can't get on it.

Here's an idea- 3 out and out strikers balanced out with 3 holding midfielders?

    Something like this?

    ----------Boruc---------------
    Clyne---Lovren--Yoshida---Shaw
    ------Cork----Schneiderlin----
    ----------Wanyama-----------
    ---Lambert---------Rodriguez--
    -----------Osvaldo------------

All very fluid, naturally. 8-0 Saints.

Picking a Saints team is beginning to have a feeling of excitement and a lot of quandary about it .... imagine being an opposing manager this season. Last season, the team virtually picked itself.

    I'd go with...

Starting XI: Boruc; Clyne, Yoshida, Lovren, Shaw; Wanyama, Schneiderlin; Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Rodriguez; Lambert.

Bench: Gazzaniga, Chambers, Hooiveld, Cork, Puncheon, Gaston, Osvaldo.

This really is turning into a hell of a squad. DTLW's team above is missing Kelvin, Jose, Fox, Davis, Guly and Isgrove.

With Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Rodriguez, Clyne, and Shaw running at the opposition, and Lambert and Schneiderlin pinging perfect passes around? No, I don't think so!

So much flexibility now which is exactly what you need to compete in the top half!

I think we will play the same 11 as the West Brom game. We played well, got off to a flying start and will want to build momentum. No need to confuse the issue just yet, there will be plenty of need for Cork,Maya, Osvaldo etc sooner than later.

I know what you're really asking is "will Osvaldo start", so I have to say probably not.

Not just Osvaldo Q. JWP did well on Sat so did Chambers. Do they stay in or do we go for more experience.

Perhaps Cortese could apply to the FA for a dispensation on grounds of force majeure that we may need to field 13 players.
