Eldon, were all in the same boat. The points we both need to stay up will come from Hull, Palace, WBA, Villa, Norwich etc, these are the important games to get points from. After the top 5/6 teams all the other clubs are doing the same, fighting for survival.
bloody hell we got hammered (sorry for the pun) in our first ever game in the premiership and we were more than odds on to go straight back down.....losing away to west ham is no big deal as its a learning curve and you will get better. its not a sprint its a long season and with each game comes more experience and more experience produces better results. You have to be very good and have a bit of luck to win away games in this league so there is no panic.
Here here! I think the right time to assess how the saeason will pan out is by the 7th or 8th game, that gives new players a chance to gel into their new team, we can see how a team might cope with an injury (although I understand Cardiff are already missing their new striker and so he should be back by then). It's a long season and both clubs have winnable games coming up, but we also have our fair share of tough ones as well. The marker for how the season pans out will be judged by how both our teams do against others who be expected to finish between 17th and 10th.
I would hope almost all Swans fans would Valley, Newcastle fans were hoping for survival last season with their Europa campaign and if it is good enough to hope for that at that club then it should be good enough to hope for that for ours. Of course it would be nice to finish midtable, that would be the bonus providing we progress far into the Europa as well. I think most Cardiff fans will be hoping for 40 points and who can blame them? Most fans who see their team promoted hope that and then can maybe start looking onwards and upwards after the first two seasons.
Stoke can't string 4 passes together, Palace are very lighweight, Sunderland are rubbish and Di Canio will be gone by the new year and Chelsea declared after 30 mins against a very poor Hull team. That's 4 teams straight away who will finish below you off the top of my head. Hope that makes you all feel a bit better
Would take a 10th finishinh spot and a run to the quarters in Europa right now. As for promoted sides I agree project, the first 2-3 years should be about survival, and then with the experiences and financial pot available, then have a crack at the league, just like WBA have done the past few seasons, and as we will be looking to do this season.
Quick joke before bed, pinch it for your board if you want Diligaf I stopped a guy in the street and said, "Can you help me? I'm looking for a rubbish tip." He said, "Arsenal to win the Premiership."
Do you know what a microwave is? It's what a midget does when they leave. (No offence to small people, eg Neveroff) Liked the Arsenal one
Ok here's my offering, hope it cheers everyone up a bit Teacher: "I have a green ball in one hand, a green ball in another, what do I have?" Student:"Kermit the Frog begging for mercy"
