In another (more tenuous) link, it was widely reported that Osvaldo was one of the many, many reasons for the Ramirez transfer hitting snags - the Osvaldo to Espanyol deal was incredibly incentive based and Bologna got a bit screwed over, hence their reluctance to do an even bigger deal in intricate installments.

A defender will round this window up, I reckon. If it's a LB/CB then I guess it's not Sorensen.

Well i am more than happy for the transfer window to end now, obviously another big signing wouldn't upset me, but i don't want to throw to much money around. I would kind of like to buy a winger or a cb/lb/, a nice low risk one to calm me down, one where its easy to move on if it flops (Forren style)

I'm up nearly £200 on the Osvaldo and Wanyama deals so losing a tenner on Banega is fine. :p

Martin Keown has this to say about West Ham and Saints [before we signed Osvaldo]

    Hammer blow

I fear for West Ham. There were massive inconsistencies last season. They didn’t manage back-to-back wins all campaign, Jussi Jaaskelainen had to make more saves than any other player and they won just three times away. Also, they haven’t added much to their squad.

Their biggest signing is Andy Carroll but he was there last season, he struggles with injuries and he scored just seven times.
Sam Allardyce knows how to get success from a team and while they don’t play any of the top four until October, they’ll need a good start or the confidence could quickly drain away.

    Saints on the march

There’s been a lot of focus on the money Norwich have spent but I’ve been impressed by Southampton.
Mauricio Pochettino has spent £21m on just two players. Normally clubs outside the top six buy quantity when they part with that much but Pochettino felt he needed quality instead, signing Victor Wanyama from Celtic and Dejan Lovren from Lyon, who both could have been playing Champions League football.
They spent very well last summer on Jay Rodriguez, Nathaniel Clyne, Steven Davis and Gaston Ramirez and they have bought well again.
They needed an improvement in central defence, which Lovren will give them and Wanyama will give them power in midfield.
Add England centre forward Rickie Lambert, tough tackler Morgan Schneiderlin and left-wing axis Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw and you can see them doing well.

Yeah, I know, it's the Daily Fail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...thampton-march-Robin-van-Persie-pressure.html

Scott Parker has snubbed QPR, in favour of a move to Fulham.

As old as he is, he's still far too good for the Championship. Good on him.

Willian does seem to be having fun with Twitter. Followed Lucas and Coutinho, getting Liverpool fans all excited, then minutes later followed Sandro and Paulinho.

He's just followed Rafael, too. Either he's just completely innocently following all Brazilians in the Prem while stories are breaking about him all around, or he's having a right good laugh watching reactions to it.

If Spurs get him as well, and keep Bale, they should be challenging for the title, never mind 4th place. They've got a lot of quality.

Scousers are having a melt down over Willian, he's apparently been in Liverpool for the past 2 days and has still turned them down.
