A bit like crimewatch, except we all know who is guilty before the reconstruction. Nice to see our old gaffer behind a first game loss. No surprise there. Updates to follow weekly.
Surrey, you may want to add to the thread title 'The Joke from Stoke'. Now who in their right mind would want to see weekly updates of the said manager getting beaten ?
Losing 1-0 away to Liverpool is not a disgrace especially as they could have got a draw if the penalty had been scored. Was this a flash in a pan, we shall have to wait and see.
Unfortunately, Hughes is starting from a much more solid base at Stoke, so he has a 'team' that has gelled before he got his hands on it. I think they'll be competitive and they might just have the luck to find three worse teams below them this season...
I think its time to move on. Hughes has done his damage and we are now coming out the end of it a better club. Lesson seem to have been learnt. I would never wish him well but i won't spend the season watching to see uf they fail
This is exactly the point. Hughes is just working with what Pulis put together over the years. He hasn't started tinkering yet and hasn't made the wholesale changes that showed just how poor his judgement is when it comes to buying pieces to fit into the jigsaw. Stoke fans need to pray that he doesn't get his hands on any real money or they will be stuffed.
I agree with Queens on this. He's now just another ex R's manager albeit one who was a disaster but we have had a few of them over the years. Time to move on and support Harry. No one knows where this season will take us but fretting about an ex manager - lifes too short.
Bonjour Wandle agree Hughes is gone I think he will do well and I think he is a good manager If you are holding onto hate it time to let it go ... IMO Harold has to be backed now as its game on Moan in the close season and we may have plenty to do next year even if we go up expect massive money to be flung about willy nilly making Hughes time look like a sale in Poundland
If we go up I expect us to invest but I think TF will be rather more cautious second time around, particularly with the introduction of the financial fair-play rules.
A few seasons back (perhaps our first back in Ch. - Gallen scored a late winner in the match) I attended the game vs Stoke away; went for a pint before hand in the town centre and there was a bloke with a swastika tatooed on his forehead. Very strange - never finished a pint quicker.
I despise that **** and will do forever. I shall get over it when I choose or when he dies gruesomely.
