How is it pathetic? did you not watch the game? He started against Chelsea up front for god sake and did absolutely nothing. Sagbo swapped with him for the last 12 minutes of the first half and held it up and we did much better.

I'm hoping he comes good but it sounds like another one of those players riding on the wave of one good season. He's not at swansea anymore, he needs to adapt.

I expected Chelsea to come out the stronger side in the first half and they did just that. McGregor could've done better for the free kick but there's often little you can do against such quality. He does some rather quick to come off his line; maybe Harper can have a word with him.

The defense looked alright, bit shaky in the first half but that's to be expected when you consider who they're trying to defend against. Figueroa looked decent and it was good to see Elmo taking on a man again. He does, however, need to learn to get back into position once he's gone forward as he left that right side a little exposed. Rosenior offers that defensive nous, but offers little going forward. So maybe if we went 442 then we'd see both on the right side.

Our midfield was unsurprisingly swamped, but I thought Brady was a class apart today. He looked right at home and I think with Quinn coming back we'll see the best in him. Meyler wasn't terrible, but I think he needs to be a bit sharper in the pass and he'll have to work double time now that Thudd has arrived. Incidentally, the first thing Thudd did when he came on was intercept a pass and spray it around. The guy oozes class and if he plays like that all season, we've got a bargain. Livermore looked ok, he offers more of an attacking threat than Meyler and he'll benefit from playing with Koren.

Our forward line looks decent, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't really trouble Cech at all. No long rangers from Aluko or Koren and even the crossing wasn't great.

The only criticism I have of today, and I'm being really picky, is that we still have no clue what to do when we win a throw in. There were about 3 or 4 times when we won a throw in on their by line, only for the ball to either go out for a goal kick or be cleared away. We've always been ****e at them, but we can't afford to be anymore and I hope we work at it on the training ground.

The support was probably the worst I have seen of all the games this weekend and the highlights of them. Most away followings are all stood up getting behind the team. 90% of ours sit there like they are at the theatre.

Funny you say that because I'm going to the Norwich game ;) Glad you saved some money today by not supporting your team.

Well I must have been in the good quarters.
Speaking of which there was an old guy with a red checkered shirt who was absolutely hilarious, would love to buy him a pint if anyone knows who he is. (lower tier block c I think)

It's pathetic because he's playing in a new team surrounded by several other players who are also adapting to unfamiliar tactics/formation- the whole side are on a learning curve, playing not only a team established at the top end of the Premier League but one of the top teams in Europe.Up against one of the richest clubs in the world, away from home, managed by Europe's best club manager etc

And all you can do us rubbish a new player's first game?

Replace Koren with Meyler IMO! But yes although Sagbo is built like a Brick but he has to get in There IMO, but if Aluko does it,( different team, different player,) he has to supply Sagbo! IMO!

I know what I mean but beer etc........

Were you at the game? Did sky show him shrug his shoulders and flap his arms about after 15 minutes of not getting a perfect through ball? He barely tracked and pressured the defenders or goalkeeper when chelsea were passing it at the back.

Your point applies to all the new recruits ...
Sagbo has to adapt just as he did but he actually tried, got in Chelsea's face and did his job. Graham looks depressed.

That's how Huddlestone has always played: deep in the midfield, spraying balls around. People think a good passer in midfield should play high up the pitch, that's not always the case.

No that's fine but if you play deep you should also be somewhat defensive right? I am no expert on his defensive capabilities. If he's solid enough then Meyler will be on bench

Meyler was crap today. Koren improved as the match wore on.

At home, I'd rather have our captain.

No I wasn't at the game.

In fact I didn't even watch it on tv.

It doesn't make a scrap of difference. You can't judge anyone on one game or even 5 . They need time to settle, some more than others.

Hence why I said I am hoping he'll come good. This is just my gut feeling. I felt that way in preseason already but said nothing because "it was preseason" but same thing today. We'll see how he looks after 10 games.

To be fair I think Sagbo faired better in preseason so I was mainly surprised to see Graham leading the line.

He needs to get out of this rut fast because he's going to get frustrated. Bruce needs to figure out how to get his Swansea performances.

It's a tad harsh to judge graham on playing upfront on his own against that back line

I like the meyler holding with thud and Livermore in front for an away team to be hard to beat against good teams
