IMO, we lost it early, scared of them & their reputation, McG was quality but we sat back too often. Not enough going forward. Hudds & Liv changed it but too little too late. Against an average side we might get something!
I'm happy with that, was hoping to sneak a goal but at least we had a go. It will be interesting to see how the other top teams fair against Chelsea. Looking forward to next week.
I'm not sure why Bruce was playing Elmohamady at RB. At times his positioning was woeful. His attacking play is decent but defensively he is frustrating.
Think they're right, to be honest. Chelsea were classy in the first half, and we virtually handed the 3 points to them with our poor start. 2nd half was better, but it couldn't have got much worse. Chelsea could've thrashed us by a bigger score if they'd wanted to. On a positive note- we passed it better in the second half. Huddlestone and Livermore helped a great deal.
Nobody should write us off just yet. It's a tough start and we're finding our feet. 1st half was a baptism of fire. Onwards & Upwards!
It would be foolish to write us off after playing the probable champions. Need to repeat our 2nd half efforts and endeavour against the likes of Palace and Stoke.
We definitely should have had a penalty for hand ball in the scramble in their penalty area late in the second half. Defender stuck out an arm. 2-1 would have made for an interesting finish.
