2-0 FT nerves got the better of us in the opening part of the game but Good performance in the second half, great strings of passing livermore and huddlestone brought that extra quality to the game brady looked very good sagbo too chester and davies started to build a partnership that was severely lacking in the first half feeling optimistic
We played well, McGregor pulled off some decent saves especcially the penalty. What can be taken most out of the game is how we didn't look like a Championship side playing with the big boys. I haven' missed the ****ing diving bastards though
Good 2nd half after we settled, gives us hope going into the Norwich game. Huddlestone's vision & passing ability will keep us up. Confident, after what I've seen today, that we have enough to achieve our aims.
Well played for the last 55 minutes. I was very worried after 20 minutes but now I think we have shown some decent quality, much better than our last foray into this division.
that sums it up. it also occurs to me that it's to chelsea's advantage not to leave us totally demoralised.
Everything looks in good order, still not sure we've got enough up front. Although against Norwich will be a better indicator.
Happy with what i saw. really think we could do with another quality midfielder, the difference that Hudd and Livermore made was massive but its unlikely they will be able to play every game. Sagbo is a monster, think he will be hugely important for us this season, maybe not for goals but hold up play etc.
Sagbo could be a great signing. Brady and Aluko carrying on where they left off. Get Rosie in at right back if we stick with this formation. Can take plenty of confidence from the second half. We're right in the mix!
Good 2nd half. Livermore and Huddlestone are quality. I am really impressed by Brady this is definitely his level.
Much better teams will go to Stamford Bridge and lose by more than 2 goals, the last 60 mins of that game was pretty even, happy with that performance
2-0 defeat. Not bad considering how we started. Second half was much better and I think we showed that even when our backs are against the wall, the team won't quit. We're not going to be in many environments that are more pressure packed than the return of Mourinho opening day of the season. Playing in this type of game and holding our own, is a good building block to start off with on the campaign to stay up.
Very encouraging second half. Mid-field substitutions made a big difference. Huddlestone was class and Livermore was a huge improvement over awful Meyler. McGregor was brilliant at times but judgement suspect. Elmo and Brady full of energy. Davies excellent at CH. Sagbo brought speed and aggression up front. If we play like we did in the last 50 minutes and start the second half line up we'll beat Norwich. Well done City!!
I would make Huddleston captain, he bossed the midfield and was a massive influence. Very optimistic about the season ahead, can't wait for the next game
Couldn't cope with chelsea in the first half hour, we looked a lot better in the second half with Brady on the wing Instead of in cm. We gave a very good account of ourselves in the second half with sagbo being a bit more mobility and energy in midfield from livermore. If we play like that against Norwich, well have a good chance.
For the first 30 minutes we looked awful. Chester and Davies was all over the shop and we lacked shape and belief. We then got a hold of the ball and began to pass it and settle down a little. Extremely lucky to go in at half time only 2-0 down. Second half was much better, partly because Chelsea sat off us. Thudd and Livermore anchored the midfield well and our wingers began to use the width well. I felt Sagbo did well in the second half. Not in terms of a threat, rather his ability to hold up the ball. Graham was meh. We still need a Lukaku-type forward and I fully expect Bruce to delve into the market before the end of the window with another sock-annihilator.
