Not a surprise, just hope Carroll is used before the 89th minute.

To their credit, Palace are playing very well.

Hopefully their pressing will wear them out.

Lennon is putting in a shift. Chadli gave away an unnecessary free kick early on, which put us under pressure. He was also tarting about in our final third which I don't like. Paulinho looks class, time on the ball. Rose has surprised me, apart from one dodgy tackle he has been good.

How is that not a freekick for Rose there?

  5. Walker and Lennon's crossing has been woeful.

Amen to that. Walker's last one set up an attack for Palace!

Yeah chadli is not having his greatest game. Lovely understanding between Lennon and walker but absolutely no final product! Paulinho looks quality

LOL, you spoke too soon lads! That cross for chadders at the end was quality! <laugh>

Not really much to say. It's harsh of us to judge them too much. It's the first game and they are feeling their way back in. I think it looks promising. Still lacking something though and I can't quite work out what it is.

Sorry... I mean... "This is unacceptable, we've not been ambitious enough in the transfer window and AVB is past his sell by date. AVB out" <laugh>

Paulinho has got something about him hasn't he? I've been really impressed by him so far.

Spurs looks to have good potential with the new players looking solid and classy. Soldado looks like a proper striker and has already produced some very good chances with a very sharp touch. Rose has surprised me too although we have to remember the strength of the opposition.

Goals to complete the job please.

i've always said i'd take any sort of win here. The performance is a little moot at this point in the season with all these noobs.

Encouraging signs though hardly exceptional. One thing's for sure, Spurs without Bale this year are significantly better than Spurs without Bale last year.

I know what you mean about creativity though roo. The midfield 3 is playing pretty well though. Time for goals now. At this point in the season, any win is a good result.

Palace have concentrated their resources on the right side leaving more room for Rose and Chadli. Maybe why Rose has been so involved.

i'm not sure what swagger it is. If we are swaggering we should stop and concentrate on scoring a goal

Many, including myself, have said how we miss soapy points by not doing our business early. We've done that this year and are playing arguably the weakest team in the league. We have to win. Simple as.

It's like a link is missing in there somewhere. I'm paying a lot of attention to sigurdsson today....
