1997 was the gig I referenced. I was meant to see them at Oasis' first ever arena gig at Sheffield in 95 but Nick McCabe broke his hand in a fight the week before so they got Pulp to support instead. That gig was famous for being the first ever time Noel played Don't Look Back in Anger. He did it acoustic after proclaiming he'd written it the night before. I was literally watching history in the making. The Verve split shortly after so I was gutted thinking Id never see them live so was obviously delighted when they reformed in 97.
I went to see Oasis at Heaton Park in 2009. It was brilliant. I'm glad I did go as well - they broke up a few weeks later...
I just remembered something City related to the gig at the Leadmill I mentioned, it was the same day as Mark Hately's first competitive game in charge away at Mansfield. It worked out perfect, Mansfield on the afternoon then a short trip to Sheffield for the gig. The game was so ****e, we didn't have a shot OFF target never mind on target and 2000 City fans saw all the hope disappear before their eyes.

The "Time Flies" Oasis Album was awesome IMO. Jake Bugg's album is pure quality too. Tame Impala - Lonerism from last year was a great Album too.
If we are counting compilations, let me include these two...
