We are a capable team though, but we are flawed. I agree about 'a few solid players' rather than individual world beaters. But unlike Swansea, we do have the capability to add one or two top quality players and be genuine contenders. The problem seems to be though, for some reason, we just can't get it done and all the hard work is unraveling at the seams.

If you watch the game again the linesman was signling for a corner.
The second yellow was a correct decission, it was the first that cost you and was wrong.

Didn't see what he singled so fair enough. If he thought it was a corner, he obviously saw him win the ball so should have said to the ref he won the ball. Again, a lack of communication from the officials. I guess the 1st was harsh given it wasn't a foul, but the 2nd was harsh compared to Vlaar who made a similar and slightly worse challenge and got nothing.

Exactly <ok> Unless the ref is absolutely sure, he should have consulted with his linesman, who obviously saw the incident better and gave a corner, because KOS GOT THE ****ING BALL.

The Vlar challenge straight after sending off Kos was a ****ing travesty and showed the ref up as being totally clueless.

  5. The ref made a call thinking it was a foul before getting the ball. He obviously didn't see the trailing leg so what he thought he saw was obviously wrong. However, it technically was a penalty so surely that's equaled out anyway?

Not really, the ref was obvious sure hence him giving it. Whether the decision was correct or not is irrelevant when considering the ref being sure or not.

It wasn't a penalty. Kos got to the ball and pushed it out for a corner. The ref ****ed it and it cost us the game.

You need a quality striker like Rvp as do we

  8. But then you have to consider that the lino wouldn't have seen the contact either and this argument is purely about which came first, contact on the player or ball. The referee has to make a decision, if the lino says its a foul and the player didn't get the ball then it makes the referees job very easy. The lino giving the corner means the referee has to make a judgement call between the bold bit. As someone said higher up, the gap between the two was minute and impossible for the referee to see but he had to make a decision.

The camera's then show that the decision was correct, irrelevant of what the referee thought he had or hadn't seen.

  9. Technically, it was a penalty, Kos got the man before the ball.

First penalty was pretty stone wall. But the second one? Is that the one you're referring to? Cause that's far from it being a penalty. Regardless, the ref had an awful showing today. No way anyone can agree with that.

Is this the same moron who was crying a week or so ago, labeling me and a couple of other gooners "childish" and whatnot? Oh yes. Yes it is. What's going on man? Tied up any more contracts for those global, multi-million companies you supposedly work for? <rofl>

  17. Actually, I think you was hard done to on the first penalty because the ref played the advantage first, effectively giving them two chances to score (and they scored on the third chance <doh>)

The replays on MOTD clearly show he second is a penalty. Read back if you want to discuss it as I'm not retyping it <laugh>

Agreed on the first point. I made that same point earlier. Ridiculous. Never ever heard of an advantage in the penalty box. The guy is out of his depth. Only in the UK will you get such inept refs.

And no offence mate. MOTD? Most of the guys here watched the full game, and we all saw the replays multiple times ourselves. You're talking nonsense. Koscielny got a faint touch on the ball.

  20. I agree MOTD isn't the place to judge a game but you can judge a decision from that since they give you just about every camera angle going and slow it right down. It clearly shows Kos touches the ball, but his trailing leg clearly contacts the Villa player's trailing leg first. There is no way the referee would have seen that but if the referee believes it was a foul and the camera proves it was despite being for a different reason, surely that equals out anyway?
