decent game, hoped for more but i think begovic AND mark huges did a good job. was actually surprised stoke were still that organised but played that way too. If stoke keep it up they'll do ok but i just feel we need to still score more. should have been punished again which is a historic thing but there are positives. Lucas looked more to the pitch of the game, gerrard stayed in a nice slot and it really improved his consistency acorss the 90.... hendo playing pleasantly suprised me but he allowed coutinho to play and worked damn hard.... Aspas gave a decent little show but you can only see him being dropped for suarez or willian depending on what happens or doesn't happen so selection could be a nice headache for rodgers. Toure looked able for the level, not much to do compared to next week but at least he looked able which is building confidence again on top of preseason. Overall..... something to build on and 3 points down 67 more to go = 22 wins and one draw. we need to improve on that display but it is a nice kick off.
Bit like in Kenny's full season; press claimed that we happened to keep facing in-form MOTM performing keepers but they have to be given the opportunity to play well!
This The only brilliant save he made was the one against Henderson when got the smallest of touches to push it onto the post. If Henderson had put it any wider of the keeper it would have gone wide of the goal. All the others were close enough to him that he didn't have to provide any heroics, just make his body big and our players hit him.
I wouldn't say that, I had no intention of taking credit from Begovic (or other keepers) because he (they) still has to be in.the right place to save it. My point was that our players need to be more clinical
that was a great performance and result today I hope we can now get some momentum and use the confidence to make a few more of the chances we create count for something
The last bit was my own personal opinion. Wasn;t taking anything away from him but he didn't have to pull of any heroics, just made himself big. Enrique hit it straight at him, Aspas did the same, Coutinho hit one at him from far out that just rolled along the floor, Sturridge smashed one at front post from silly angle, Gerrard's free kick was quite far out so would expect him to save. That's just 5 of the 10 shots he saved. Can't remember the others from top of my head. Agree that we need to be more clinical, and hitting it not at the keeper would help

The mod thread was aimed at Bow, Bluff and myself. We had six mods at the time but D's had PM'd us three regarding various issues and decided to go public. He singled Bow out in that thread too. Edit: starting to think you guys are taking me serious with this 'its always about me' thing
