Here's my line up for the next game then:

GK Eliott (Kril has been eaten by a whale)
RB Angel Gabriel Overrun (Debauchery is a filthy french softie whereas Argies are well known to be good defenders)
LB Paul Dummyout (give the local lads a chance instead of some precious Itai)
CB Stevie (english - nuff said)
CB Coco (might sound like a clown but another argie - falklands is all forgotten)
RM Papiss Sissigirl (his best position)
LM The Jonas Brothers (two players rolled into one - attack and defend. Another legendary argie.)
CM Willowy (lacked height in here for ages, Pards was clueless, Willowy has a great touch)
CM Hatty Chen Afro (not really french, tunisian. Joe told me lovely place to holiday so we better play him)
CF Shola the Bowler Amoeba (Could have had 10 wickets in that test at Durham if they'd played him)
CF Sammy Amoeba (great kid, the surname suggests you only get one but we got two)

Bench - the rest of them frenchies

A boring 1-1. Pardiola will pack the midfield.

Not upfront, playing on the right as per last season in a 4-5-1

I've gone for a draw, City have a new manager in Pellegrini (sp) a few new faces through the door and an up and down pre season. Also a lot of their players I imagine will have been off on international duty this week where as we had about 6 and most of them didn't get much game time.

TBH I can see it going either way so sat on the fence 8D

The life of celebrated Manchester City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann will be remembered with warm applause at the club's first game of the new Premier League season.

Further details of a series of tributes at Monday evening's clash with Newcastle United have been revealed.

Trautmann, a German who made 545 appearances for City between 1949 and 1964 after winning over the nation with technical brilliance and bravery, died aged 89 on July 19 after suffering a heart attack at his bungalow in Valencia, Spain.

The former Paratrooper, who was captured during the war but went on to forge a successful career, is widely recognised as one of City's greatest ever stoppers.

His defining moment came in the 1956 FA Cup Final, when he played out the latter stages of the match with a broken neck to lead the Blues to victory.

Club bosses said Monday's game would be dedicated to Trautmann and used to recognise his 'great contribution to Manchester City and life in Britain'.

A wreath laying ceremony will take place ahead of the match at 7pm, attended by 24 members of the Trautmann family.

The matchday programme will have a 16-page pull-out tribute, including a reproduction of the 1956 FA Cup final programme.

The game will start after a minute’s applause, to be led by goalkeepers from every age group at the club.

Former City keeper Alex Williams and ex-Arsenal and Scotland number one Bob Wilson, one of Trautmann's closest friends, will take part.

The first team squad will warm up in goalkeeping shirts with ‘Trautmann 1’ on the back – shirts which will be auctioned in aid of the Trautmann Foundation.

All players will wear black armbands.

Wilson and former City favourite Uwe Rosler will be speaking to fans at City Square to share their memories of Trautmann.

And his sons, Mark and Stephen, will be presented with a special honour on the pitch at half-time.

After his capture during the war at the Russian Front, Trautmann was eventually sent to a prison camp in Lancashire.

He remained in England after the the war and began his football career with non-league St Helens Town.

He signed for Manchester City in 1949, but faced hostility from some supporters.

But by the time he left he was regarded as one of the bravest players in football – with head-on dives at the feet of strikers a trademark

The club said an announcement about a permanent memorial would be made in due course, with fans calling for a stand at the Etihad Stadium to be named in his honour.

Can't see us getting anything other than a drubbing by 3 or 4 goals. It will be same as last year with Shola & Jonas being selected by Pardew. The man hasn't a clue.

I would love us to have a go at City the way Villa did at Arsenal yesterday, but knowing Pards is won't happen.

To be fair though, it was classic counter attack. Arsenal had a large share of the possession and dominated territory wise. Villa were very smart, they were tight defensively after the opening goal and when they did attack they got numbers forward. I couldn't see Citeh being as reckless as Arsenal. If we go gung ho we'll get murdered. I think we have to look to stay compact and play on the counter attack. Use the pace and ball carrying of Gouf, Benny. The big difference is though they have Benteke who can make it stick.

" The big difference is though they have Benteke who can make it stick "

This is why the theory that " sh*t sticks to anything " is flawed........see Shola.
